'20 TX PG Julian Larry (Transferred to Texas)

WANTED: Passionate Sycamore Fanatics. That You?

Register NOW to join our community of die-hard Sycamore fans.

It might be interesting to learn how effective Swope, Kent and Avila are w/o Julian.

I hope he stays here, but if he leaves I do hope the school has a masters program that best serves his long term career goals.

don't bring trivial issues like team chemistry, bonding and intuition into this equation.

EVERYONE knows players are just pick up, drop in system and there's ZERO impact to the player or teammates...

Interesting that the HC post has Larry as the only player showing.

Larry is also the only starter hasn’t posted a thank you bye bye message.

The shame of the NIL era is that a lot of these young men will be treated like prized free agents in pro sports and in so many of those cases, you see those guys not fitting with their new club (be it chemistry, scheme fit, whatever). It would be a shame to see that happen to our guys, especially someone as loveable as Julian Larry. Same thing could be in play for Schertz and those who transfer to SLU (new facilities, new teammates and coaches, new fans, new opponents), but I really don't care what happens there.

enough with the sob stories of the poor, put upon Div I athlete - pretty sure not one is FORCED to ink that scholie deal; pretty sure not one is FORCED to transfer chasing NIL $$. and if it doesn't work out, they can simply adopt the same approach as Dusan Mahorcic, late of Duquesne -- dude was at 6 colleges in 6 years

I was talking about the shame of a guy like Larry, who has been with the same program their entire collegiate career suddenly becoming a prized commodity and being lured away by a big payday, only to find it less fulfilling. I said it was a shame, certainly wasn't presenting a sob story reflecting the experience of all players including those bouncing from program to program each year.

I guess it’s cool to see some sycamores stick together, who knows what to think anymore. I’m fatigued by the whole situation

Those two are best buds, so kinda cool to see them stick together.
Just really sad if they play pro ball that Indiana State wouldn’t be listed. Like it never even happened. I blame it on the Covid for the 5th year lol…they both would have been done.

depends on the database and the player can ALWAYS insist an alma mater(s) be mentioned in bios, media guides

I think the guy who was most instrumental in Ju's development was Alex Peavler. As far as I know he's still on staff at ISU. Credit where credit is due.

Julian put in 4 years of hard work and is graduating. He gets to go back home where his Mom is closer. More power to him and good luck!

👀 Is Julian Larry coming back? Just asking for a friend.

No. He was announced by Texas so I would assume he signed his NLI for next year.

Several of our former players have followed coaches or even prospects. If anything, hope they are helping us out on their way out the door.
