not sure about this one...before the penn state game...I would have said blowout...big difference I know...but I thought our O was better than they are..if our O could have sustained a few drives I would call a blowout...I just don't think the O is as highpowered as I was expecting....I'll say 35-10 is closer...p.s....pray for the butler man who has to block obaseki...I don't think they have a man who can do it....he is a very good DE on anybody's team...he manhandled a guy last year who is in the NFL now from missouri state...

For a non scholly school...they are pretty solid. Won 7 games last year I believe.

They lost 7 (4-7 for the year); they beat Albion, Taylor (IND.), Davidson and Valparaiso.

Perhaps your thinking of the 2009 season...

I guess I don't see it. We might as well be playing Franklin, Marion, Wabash, Rose, or Warren Central. D2 or NAIA is another story. At least they had some scholarship to attract talent. I'm not saying there are not a few Butler players who could get an offer somewhere, but logic says most didn't. Here we are Senior loaded, talent loaded, at home, with several NFL prospective players and FCS All-American's on the roster, coming off a great season.......and we are not sure Butler is a massive blowout???

Ask yourself how many of those butler football players are receiving a generous financial aid package because of their 'special talent?' More than 1 is...

I get that but I would expect a conservative gameplan and starters to be yanked to prevent any fluke injuries...I could always be wrong but if I had to guess that's what it would be.

31-7.......Get a big lead by half or early third quarter and pull starters. Just need to stay healthy the next two weeks for conference play.

I feel differently. As much as we struggled offensively, I'd expect a full game out of our starters unless we hang like 56 on them, especially heading into a game with another FBS program in Western Kentucky. Our offensive line needs work, our passing game needs work for timing and to get guys live reps, etc.

I just think coach would rather sit em than injure em. And yes a butler player is smart enough To hit a knee and hurt our season.

I remember when Rose Hulman came to use our field turf back in the day.... I watched them for a long time (our practice was over, theirs had just begun). Nice kids with heart, but less than 10 of them could have made our third string. No disrespect, just a fact. A 4 win non-scholarship team just doesn't worry me much. I think there's a Butler B.B bleed over effect here. Ask yourself if you'd be concerned if this was Valpo or if this football team were at another school. Two years ago (even last year) I get the concern....but this year??? not for me by a long shot.

I am confident the team will win on Saturday.

I am not equating MBB with Football.

I'll bet a paycheck that Butler 'passes along' a nice financial aid package (like WE DID with the Eitel twins) to SOME, not all of the football players.

I think the Pioneer league is something like 1-17 vs MVFC opponents, with the one win coming from Drake against Illinois State in 2007. Butler does have an experienced QB and some pretty good skill players, but this should be much like us against Penn St. on the lines. That being said, this program is not completely turned around, so taking any team too lightly is definitely not a good idea.

BTW, this is a recruiting weekend for the team as there will be a handful of high school prospects at the game. Show out well and you may add some players this weekend.
