In the post game commentary, Charles said...."you have to feel sorry for Virginia".....No, not really.
In the basketball world, the Virginia's (P5) of the world have everything.....others, not so much.
Great win for "the others"....let's hope for more.

Or win a national championship a few years ago.

You can win a title and still have the life sucked out of you athletically. That is a system school. If they are allowed to be physical with you and then you don't maintain good defense in space, they will beat you 99% of the time.

They also advanced to their 1st Final Four in 35 seasons (1984-2019) on essentially as miraculous a play as Bryce Drew and "The Shot"... as Danny Ainge's end to end drive...

AND folks forget, VA needed OT to WIN the title over Texas Tech

Resend that message to the eight Cavaliers currently in the NBA. They failed to get it while learning the game at Virginia.

Are you trying to say that Virginia is not a system school? I'm not sure what you're trying to say here?

The fact they have 8 NBAers and several playing in Europe (I know for sure Kyle Guy is as I watched him awhile back) and save for the 2019 title they are routinely bounced in the early rounds, it sounds like they underachieve based on how much talent they have. So I'll stand by my statement that Virginia is a school where athletes go to die.

2x No Tournament
2x NIT Quarters
4x NCAA 1st Round
2x NCAA 2nd Round
1x NCAA Sweet 16
1x NCAA Elite 8
1x NCAA Champ

So 8 of Bennett's 13 years his team is not in the tournament or bounced in the 1st round or 10 of his 13 going golfing before the Sweet 16. I mean, if that is what you were shooting for, uh, congrats... I guess? Lets not act that if it didn't say Virginia on the front of that jersey and they weren't in the ACC that athletes would flock to play in Bennett's system. If he were Virginia State University, athletes would sprint the other way.

Charleston falls short. Bad call on a clean block changed complection of the last minute of the game.

Now off to root for Princeton. Hopefully Virginia of the Ivy League can beat Arizona.

I am not the one who stated athletes go there to die. Dying implies each disappears never to be seen again. There exists ample evidence that your statement is patently false.

Also, I would treasure regular season success that yields 1-4 seeds in the NCAA Tourney no matter what the system.

Maybe you should ask for clarification before making an incorrect assumption. It should have been easy to discern based on what Twitch said as it was an addon comment to that. In any event, if it was unclear, it shouldn't be now. Enjoy the rest of the games today.

Do agree with you on the regular season success. Unfortunately, their fans don't as they have ACC-level expectations.

Anyone that has watched Virginia play for the last 10 years knows they want to slow it down, grind it out and play pos basketball. They don’t want to get into a track meet.

Logically - in the NCAA tournament especially you are going to be able to stick around. It’s pretty unlikely they’re going to come in and boat race a team.

That’s not to suggest Bennett isn’t a good coach - I actually think he’s pretty solid. I picked them to get beat in 2 of 3 brackets… It’s an easy upset pick anytime they are in the tournament. That said, I also had Zona to the elite 8 or final 4 in all 3 brackets so not invincible.
