What’s the CBI? I’m sure the P6 are glad to hear that you’ve accepted the fact that we don’t belong and will gladly accept whatever tournament we can get invited to. Keep spreading the message they want you to spread. Accept less mid majors because you deserve less. You don’t belong in the NCAA or the NIT - but we’ve got a home for you in the CBI. 😂🤡
I think you missed my point or I wasn’t clear. Every mid major conference gets two bids to the NCAA tournament. The NIT can have the P6 leftovers they desire. The CBI will continue to be what it is.

I’m okay with an expansion I suppose. I haven’t given it much thought. I just think your last sentence or two really just gets at what the P6 wants…

You expand the tournament and don’t put parameters in place you will simply open the door for all those P6 schools that made the NIT to make the actual tournament. Then we can have the NIT and CBI for everyone else. You know… you keep accepting bids and celebrating lesser tournaments you’re sort of just giving the P6 exactly what they want. I can sleep well at night - I won’t ever fall into that trap.

I'm curious how the math works on an expanded tournament. You don't get more TV revenue as it's locked in for another decade I think, so tournament units essentially lose 33% of their value by jumping 32 teams.

This won’t be a popular opinion but it’s time to expand the NCAA tournament to 96 Teams. Two caveats: 1 each major and mid major conference gets 2 automatic bids, conference regular season champs, and conference tournament champs. If say a conference like the MVC has a team win both then that second aq would go to highest net ranked team in league as long as they are 125 or higher which makes them in the top 1/3 of net. 2. You must have a .500 record in your conference to participate. Pretty simple and fair. The NIT the could be a true invitation tournament for .500 power 6 teams, and the CBI could be the best of the non power 6

Who gets the 32 byes?
Why relegate Mid-majors to the CBI? Plus, as it's NOT owned by the NCAA; hard to relegate teams to it

The one thing I think you missed is that any team from any conference must have a .500 conference record or better to play in the NCAA tournament. That way you don’t get an 8-10 SEC record team like Mississippi State in the tournament like happened this year.

I mean those are your own parameters - I love it. I didn’t miss it. The NCAA and P6 will never allow it to happen. So I’m sort of just ignoring it.

You set these very reasonable parameters and then say but just give us the NIT and CBI for everyone else. Why do we need additional tournaments if we keep expanding the field? Why do we need additional tournaments in the first place?

And if in a crazy season, what if you don't HAVE the 96 "eligible teams"? Look at the fecal pile that the FBS bowl season has become...

what happens if you only have 88 eligible teams?

That's a pretty cool moment for that kid, too since he is from Vegas and I'm sure his family and friends were rolling deep.
