Yup I am not sold on UNI being in the top tier of this conference let alone winning the dang thing. Jacobson is just a better version of Greg Lansing; will always put a solid product on the court and if he has the players he can put a championship team out there. But at the end of the day they run a system where they are in every game, sometimes they win them and sometimes they lose them, but they are always competitive.

I wasn't buying them winning the conference a month ago and I'm not buying them winning it now

FWIW... Jacobson has won 4 MVC titles, 4 ArchMadness titles and will likely pass HoF Henry Iba for most coaching wins in Valley (116-yrs) history this season.

My God, the Drake - SFA game was brutal to watch. Game was as bad as the announcers. If Drake is one of the best teams in the Valley then the Valley is in trouble.
The Valley is one of those leagues where by the season's end it typically has one or maybe two teams that are just better than everyone else, and that are capable of making an upset or two in the tournament depending on the matchup. Beyond that the league is very mediocre. Being a one bid league on the 11-13 lines is the new normal.

Just noticed that northern Iowa could easily start valley play on nov 29 at 1-5 with no d1 wins. I’d be ecstatic if they win 2-3 games in their mte (all quality opponents.)

Those were all pretty good wins and not too bad of losses last night. I know Drake got blown out, but SFA is a decent team.

Bradley once again looked like the best team in the league. They didn’t play great against Tulane but they have poise and multiple ways to beat you.

Not denying what Jacobson has done over the course of his career and I would of loved for us to have their type of success in his early years. But over the last 9 seasons he has been very Lansingish. 1 Arch madness run (lansings first year), 1 real good season with Green (Odums senior season), 1 NIT team with Green (Odums junior year), and then the rest is .500 basketball. Jacobson has lost a lot of luster IMO

I lean toward the macro; again 4 REAL (Regular Season) titles, 4 ArchMadness titles, 8 post-season berths (4 NCAA, 2 NIT, 2 CiT) and they advanced in all but the first.

Add the "lost season" of 2019-20 (UNI was 25-6 that year, ArchMadness title, an NCAA berth*)

I only track this fan board but that Purple P*****s fan base should never complain about his tenure; I'd venture he's there as long as he wants as I'd imagine Farley is there as long as HE wants.

- Everyone sucks at freethrows
- Go to a Valpo game is you want to see some of the worst 3 point shooting from both teams in college bball; you'll get your moneys worth if you like rebounds
- Our 2 shooting % if ridiculous compared to everyone else, especially from 2 point land
- Belmont is giving up A LOT of points
- Pretty impressive that we average over 3 assists MORE than the #2 team in the MVC but also allow 1 assist less than the MVC's second best
- Does Evansville have a really good defense?

No, they've played two really bad tomato cans so their data is severely skewed. They'll come back to Earth playing legit D1 schools.

He would have won more except he allowed his Godson to go play for his dad which tanked his program for a few years.

The Drake/Akron game has been a good one so far. Drake with a run to end the first half, but it's been tied or around tied almost all game.

Not often I'm surprised with a school name but Evansville is playing, and I shit you not, University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis tonight.

I assume this is where all of the CVS and Walgreens pharmacists go to school since they are on every corner?

So I didn't realize UNI is in the Battle for Atlantis field this year and play UNC today. Not trying to be a hater but how they hell did they get an invite?? This is the type of field that I expect for us next year btw.

UNC getting everything they want but cannot make the basket. UNI making enough shots to hang around...and have lead most of the half.

UNC wants to play fast and free and get transition buckets. UNI generally doesn't allow that. If we don't hit from deep our games vs them will look just like this. Pretty confident we will tho.
