So you know how Loyola went to the A10 never to be heard from again? And Wichita went to the AAC and are a shell of what they formerly were? Kind of getting the same vibe from Murray State.

Honestly not surprised though; 80% of that programs accomplishment were inflated because they were the only competent program in the OVC until Belmont came along

Its cyclical. Loyola didn't do so hot their first couple years and then took off after they got a solid recruiting class and those guys won. Murray State out athleted the OVC for years and that league was really just them and Belmont with like 2 other schools that took basketball seriously.

If Prohm can change his recruiting philosophy, they have the resources and fanbase to be really good. He needs to target more skill players because you need to be able to hit shots in the Valley.

You've been preaching "Jimmy and Joes over X's and O's" for years...and now with Schertz at the helm, we're finally seeing it first hand on a daily basis.

Even Schertz has said that the difference between his year-1 at ISU and last-year/this-year is that we have better players.

SIU dropped NDSU, 76-63.

Drake trounced Alcorn State, 92-55.

Missouri State beat Lindenwood, 79-57.

So Valley 4-1 on the day with just the Valpo loss.

DeVries didn't play last night due to some shoulder issues. I believe his shoulder has been bothering him all year and then towards the end of the Grambling State game is aggravated it.

Also Conor Enright went down early in their game last night with what appeared to be a non-contact injury to his right tricep area. Watching the play, it didn't look like anything happened but he instantly curled over in pain holding his arm. Non-contact injuries are always scary and are typically never good

Flames have flamed the last few weeks. They just lost to a bad (3-7) incarnate word team at home (n)

Well… Regardless of what happens at Michigan State based on the Valley’s performance in the non conference I’d say Indiana State can afford 3 Valley losses to any combination of Belmont, Drake and Mo State. Probably need to sweep everyone else in the Valley to remain in the At Large Convo.

I mean the only landmines in the Valley are Murray and Valpo. The rest of the conference is 152 NET or better with the exception of Illinois State at 193. With each team only playing a game or 2 before conference play it's been a pretty good non-con considering. We only play Illinois State (193) and @UNI (150) once so not a horrible thing for us. At this point our 33 point drubbing of SIU (97) probably helps our metrics out the most out of any of our games

Fair. You think we can afford more than 3 MoVal losses or you just think who we get beat by doesn’t matter?

I am of the opinion that ILState, Evansville and a few others have records that are inflated and they will eventually be at or near the bottom of the Valley.
