Belmont is picking up strength and confidence with Gillespie back in the line-up and close to 100%. They may be a very scary team in the tournament.

That's a pretty good starting 4, enough to make you dangerous any given night. I could see them making a move by the end of the year

Gillespie is the X-factor so Belmont will go as far as he takes them. If he is on point, they could win Arch Madness.

Watching Valpo (up 10) at MSU after the ISU Baseball victory.... And there might be 1,200 people in the seats? On a Saturday afternoon game???

Man other MVC teams are trying to help us out with seeding/matchups in STL. MSU could fall to 10 seed. Of course, we just need to winnnn and remove all doubt

Welp, Valpo was about to beat MSU by double digits but the Beacons strung together the worse 20 possessions in a row you could imagine and the bears are going to escape with a win. Absolutely horrible last 5 minutes of basketball from Valpo

MSU could still finish in the top 135 for a Quad 2 road win though.

I wouldn’t say it’s great. My preference is not to be a farm team for the Big10. I get what you’re saying that is shows the MVC has a lot of talent though.
Yeah, I meant more so as these guys getting a chance to show that the Valley isn't some puny league. Also, wouldn't consider these guys as being 'farmed' so to say. As Mast is the only one who didn't spend four years in the Valley, and even he spent three at Bradley.

what is YOUR definition of "farmed?" One year? Two before transferring to a "bigger school?"

I wouldn't say that I have an exact definition of it. But all of those guys graduated from their Valley institutions. I am not fully sure of the ruling, so correct me if this is wrong, but are players allowed to use their graduate year at the same institution as they did their undergrad?

At one time, they could -- I recall the "wrinkle in the rule" that if they transferred for their Grad year and the NEW school had the same Grad program available as their Undergrad school, they were required to sit out a year... which is why (wink wink) SOOOOO many of those Grad transfers found the most obscure Grad program available... because, you know... they were REALLLLLLY transferring for THAT program, NOT to hoop it up for another year before the "real world" bit em in the keister...

I know that ILST loss still stings but they have been playing better as of late and their NET has moved up to 173. They need to move up 13 more spots and that would move them from Quad 4 to a Quad 3 loss for us. I don't know how much that moves the needle (Probably doesn't) but just wondering if the committee splits hair at Q3 and Q4 losses even though it's a bad loss no matter how you splice it.

Also Belmont is 2 spots away from being a Quad 2 win for us at their place..

I think IL State has a good shot at going 2-1 to finish the year, with wins against MO State and Valpo, but Bradley in Peoria is going to be a lot tougher.

It can’t hurt - so I’ll take it! Every break we can get from here forward.

Drake @ UNI tonight. Would be nice if Panthers pull that one off for us.

Drake has @UNI, @UIC, and vs. Bradley. 3 winnable games for them but they are all going to be tough and could stumble in any of them.
