Wow. Do you really want to start in a Power 5 conference with a new head coach? Of course, if you don't think the current guy can win you the AAC, maybe it makes since that he isn't going to do any better at a higher level.

Yeah, sounds like they want to make a splash moving to the ACC. SMU is another one of those schools with massive pockets that would be such a bigger national force if the NCAA didn't give them the death penalty over Pony Express.
I've mentioned it a couple times, but they were absolutely feared back in the 50s by all of the now SEC schools because of how much money they had. Jim Dent talks about it in The Junction Boys if you've never read that.

If last night is what DeVries looks like every time they play a power team, I have to think they'll seriously reconsider staying at Drake for Tuckers last year
Or if his dad thinks he has pro potential, he needs to move so he can play against higher level guys every night to help raise his game and push him?
Is it bad I hope FAU gets beat today to kick off the May sweepstakes and really ramp up coaching movement? Lots seems to hinge on him.

It would and that's precisely why he needs to move up and get more burn at a higher level.

Read it wrong. I thought it said "UAB head coach and former Stanford assistant". it's a slow start to my morning; i thought the guy was going form UAB to UIC

Seems to have a strong recruiting record at Stanford and before plus his preference is a very up tempo offense.
Lots of athletes may like his style plus his teams set APR records for UAB.

I'm not saying it's the exact situation but the "sources" that were coming who UIC was looking at, this coach wasn't mentioned. Maybe this can be the same for us. (Wishful thinking on my part)
