Register NOW to join our community of die-hard Sycamore fans.

I'm glad the football program lives rent free in your head.
Yes, I spend all my time thinking of that magical day last November when the 0-9 Leathernecks came to our beautiful, state of the art stadium to face the 0-9 Sycamores. It was the game of the century. As the Sycamore football team came on the field all 15 fans stood at once and gave a deafening roar that could almost be heard by the visiting team across the field. The starting lineups were announced but couldn’t be heard over the loud music being played outside the field by people tailgating but not willing to actually go in and watch the game.

When the Sycamores won that game, all 4 fans (the other 11 left at halftime) rushed the field and celebrated. And it was on that day I tell you, watching those four fans celebrate that triumphant victory, that I said to myself, “This,…..(pointing at the field), this was totally worth the $5 million dollars the school spent to get this win”.

And then a large piece of the stadium broke off and all four fans had to head to the exits. I just wish they had had a few more minutes to soak up that huge win.

It was an epic win. Just epic. ESPN called it the game of the century I believe. It was mentioned nationally online by multiple media members. Surely you remember all the national attention it garnered. People still talk about it all these months later.

Even during the Bradley basketball game when the game was sold out, so loud you couldn’t hear the person next to you, surrounded by a sea of blue in the stands and fighting for first place, I thought “no, that one game last November in that amazing place we (loosely) call a stadium was so much better than this. I would rather get one win a year on that majestic gridiron than have to win consistently in a sold out Hulman Center”

I was there for both the WIU game and the Bradley game and had a great time watching us win both.

We can if you want. I'm always game knowing we're wasting millions in cash on a sport that is about to move to yet another level of separation.

Tell me about those amazing 1970's when State almost beat Florida in the rain. Tell me about the 70's when we played Ball State and the stands were packed. Give me all that nostalgia that means jack shit in 2024.
Same thing can be said about basketball until HCJS got here. Hulman was like a morgue.

What exactly does it mean? I see it in the shirts?
Kaizen is a Japanese term meaning change for the better or continuous improvement. It is a Japanese business philosophy that concerns the processes that continuously improve operations and involve all employees. Kaizen sees improvement in productivity as a gradual and methodical process.

I certainly hope he stays and keeps this success going. This is what we've been waiting for as a fan base. He's helped galvanize the city of Terre Haute!!
Yesterday, read a year-old quote from Dusty May, when he talked about his contract extension last year, paraphrasing: "I learned a long time ago that you don't mess with happy." I hope HCJS is really happy in the Haute, and that he sees a continued future here.

I feel more optimistic today than yesterday (no inside info, just a gut feeling).

Duquense head coach Keith Dambrot retiring after leading Dukes to first NCAA tournament in 47 years

Keith Dambrot's first NCAA tournament appearance as the head coach at Duquesne will also be his last. The 65-year-old Dambrot is retiring whenever the Dukes' run in March Madness ends.

Dambrot made the announcement on Monday, a day after a 57-51 victory over VCU in the Atlantic 10 tournament final clinched the small Catholic school in downtown Pittsburgh its first NCAA tournament berth since 1977.

“This is it for me,” Dambrot said at a news conference called just hours after the team returned from its successful stay in Brooklyn.

Dambrot is 103-92 at Duquesne and 516-301 overall in the collegiate ranks heading into the 11th-seeded Dukes' (24-11) matchup with sixth-seeded BYU (23-10) on Thursday in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.

So, wonder if the search is beginning? Hopefully Angie gets a jump on talking to the recruits to see if any of them will stay with ISU. We’ll need a guy picked soon, and jump into The Portal.

UIC also has a term sheet out to EKU's AW Hamilton. So flip a coin.

Most of Hamilton's good players jumped into the portal today so he has nothing keeping him there.
