I mean if we are looking at a complete rebuild; Joey Hart and Julian Larry (man i hope Larry stays) wouldn't be the worst place to start

Already has been. @SycamoreStateofMind dropped it a couple days ago if I read correctly. I think he was just trying to call his next Jake Kelly shot though.

It’s not as in play as I initially thought. I think he’s got a $100k offer coming his way - I’m not sure we will be able to touch it or even should consider coming close. I think with Graves being on staff next year as HC or AHC he’s still going to be in play but if he has $100k SEC offer on table. Buh-bye.

We don't even have a permanent coach in place (not that there is such a thing as we found out). We're not going to get anyone to commit here until they know who's going to be coaching them next year.

$100k offer for someone that saw minutes in 7 games pretty much convinces me we need to bite the bullet and move down to DII because trying to pretend we're even competing in the same sport is laughable at that point.

A kid literally rides the bench all season for a mediocre Kentucky team (for Kentucky standards) and he is still getting courted for 100k? insane.

I mean I'll give him the 100k if he earns it. Dude better make Cream and Conwell look like Miller and Schertz tho.

If he can get that, good on him. But...

Don’t shoot the messenger boys… Just what I’m hearing. I wouldn’t say he’s not in play in fact I still have some hope. But if that’s the price tag then we will be out - obviously and good for him. What a world.

Masen Miller about to get $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ with that 1.8 ppg next to his name in the portal

How much did Payton Sparks pay at Gloomington for not playing? Well, avg ~10 minutes, a DOMINATING 2.1 ppg...

He's GOT to be getting $500K for returning to ISU_Muncee

Let me ask the obvious question.

If he any good?

Like everyone else we typically find ourselves discussing - he could be an all Valley player but I just don’t see him fitting in at an SEC level until later in his career or never. But someone else who gets paid to decide those sorts of things (not me) disagrees. I also am not qualified to say because I haven’t seen a lot of Hart - just sort of guessing at this point.

Exactly. Not quite sure this is the diamond in the rough we all hope for. And I certainly don’t think he should be a reason to elevate an assistant to the head coach.
Well said. I think there should at least be some others considered for the job.

They should explore options, I agree. But they have to move fast. If we don't see any candidates who move our needle by the end of the week who would be a better option than Graves, then give him the keys! I am not impressed one bit by his HC record, but I think Graves is hell of a coach, who had to learn the hard way he wasn't quite ready for the job at South Alabama. He's learned under some damn good coaches and I am sure he's been able to add some of their philosophies to his. While its possible we make a great hire other than MG, we sure as hell could do a lot worse.

Not sure “we sure as hell could do a lot worse”
Is a great sales pitch for Graves. I get what you’re saying, but shouldn’t we shoot higher than that?
