I see that didn't come across how I meant it. I will say it this way; I don't know if there is a better option for us or not, but if MG gets the job I think we will be in good shape.

We all know how this is going to end. Can't have loyalty without the big money now. Schertz marketed himself and OUR starting five. Not surprised. No way Indiana State can come up with enough NIL money to keep our core roster. NONE of this is how NIL was supposed to work. The NCAA has lost all control.

Guess what, I'll bet you the sun still rises tomorrow, ISU WILL have a basketball coach next year, who that will be, time will tell. ISU WILL still have young men representing the school as a basketball team next year. Again, who it will be will show in good time. So this is like the Colts. If you can replace a player, you make them a lower offer.
Seems like the first step is to get any firm commitments and see how they fit together.
I guess I'm saying like if you get a commitment from Daughtry, Gray, or Alderink; you don't have to allocate a large sum for Kent.
This is all hypothetical. I'm not trying to start a "discussion" on players' values.
So far today Kent, Larry and Kiudulas have hit the portal. I wonder if any will not go in it?

Welp....guess Graves isn't working his magic to keep anyone on the current roster. Not sure if I'd have any confidence in him being our head coach then. Wonder if all this would be happening if Schertz had stayed?

They are all entering their names with an option to come back if they choose. Graves is not even a guarantee to be named HC. But either way just don't be surprised by anything as stated in multiple threads. Expect some to go to SLU and others won't. College basketball is different from what it once was.
Lets be honest though. The return rate of people that go into the transfer portal is single digits.
You expected us to name Graves full time coach and the players to come back? Cmon guys. It’ll be a completely new team next season.
