Just a money making scheme for the conference office. Probably the only way to stop a field / court storming is to build a razor wire fence around the playing area. It's part of the college athletics culture and the fans aren't going to care about the $500k fine.
Time to strip all tax dollars from public schools that pay their athletes. I'll die on that hill. If you can pay athletes millions of dollars a year, you can fund your own education departments without sucking your citizenry dry on top of your students.![]()
Judge signs settlement; colleges to pay athletes
Schools are now free to begin paying their athletes directly, marking the dawn of a new era in college sports brought about by a multibillion-dollar legal settlement that was formally approved Friday.www.espn.com
Liberal judges? How about DOGE being allowed access to social security information for all US citizens. The same DOGE who has a director, according to the President, who has "lost his mind"?Any organization should be allowed to make their own rules for membership. Our liberal judges have gone nuts.
Technically, according to DJT, Elon "lost his mind" after he no longer was Doge director (partial joke).Liberal judges? How about DOGE being allowed access to social security information for all US citizens. The same DOGE whohashad a director, according to the President, who has "lost his mind"?

That's why I don't like to post on here. Invariably, some stupid person responds with an idiot remark.Liberal judges? How about DOGE being allowed access to social security information for all US citizens. The same DOGE who has a director, according to the President, who has "lost his mind"?
I understand why Musk is upset but both of them are acting like kids.Technically, according to DJT, Elon "lost his mind" after he no longer was Doge director (partial joke).
Back to basketball, I no longer care about the P4 conferences / NCAA tourney. I just want ISU basketball to consistently be competitive in the Valley. As long as that's still possible, then I'm okay.
No harm done. Keep posting. Greeley likely a smart person, but with a different political view. The board was due for a mild political exchange. That's why I don't like to post on here. Invariably, some stupid person responds with an idiot remark.
So it seems that the 22% revenue sharing per this settlement is only applicable to the Power 5 Schools. However, after reading Todd Golden's post on X last night, it would seem that the mid majors will have to follow suit on this. Our gross revenues with Men's Basketball and Football, not to mention Baseball are dramatically less from even the worst power 5 school. How much this will cut in to the overall sports budget for us and other mid majors has to be very significant. I may of missed it, but it seems that the 22% revenue sharing agreement would have to be distributed to players within that particular sport. Non revenue sports such as women's golf and track and field would be impacted. I am not sure that this recent court ruling has any impact on the NCAA in regards to restoring any form of sanity to college sports. Returning the portal to its initial guidelines of only a one time transfer without the player having to sit out a year and trying to establish caps on NIL funds as proposed by many now seem to be even more unattainable.Time to strip all tax dollars from public schools that pay their athletes. SCOTUS was unanimous in Alston and written by Gorsuch. Not sure anyone would call him a lib. And O'Bannon was a 3-0 Ninth Circuit opinion with 2 of the judges being Bush appointees. One of them almost didn't get appointed because they had previously wrote in support of torturing enemy combatants to extents that probably constituted war crimes and violation of the Geneva Convention. Not exactly a liberal stance....Any organization should be allowed to make their own rules for membership. Our liberal judges have gone nuts.
I wasn't referring to SCOTUS, but I think they are wrong also. It could be that we just need congress to do something for a change and write a bill to allow organizations to operate. It would be refreshing if congress would fix some of our problems.SCOTUS was unanimous in Alston and written by Gorsuch. Not sure anyone would call him a lib.
