The top 3 teams plus Memphis. Obviously, we’re talking semantics but I don’t think the traditional mountain west teams fit as mid major or high major. With the realignment stuff happening there will be shake ups with how those teams do and how the are perceived.

You're spittin' straight facts on all this. I was being a little facetious about Conwell....I actually watched the Louisville game to see how he would do. We were never going to keep him around even if JS stayed. I tell everyone about how I think its funny that him doing what he did with the SLU gig cost him the opportunity get the Louisville job. Not to rehash it all, but how easy it would have been, and everyone here would have understood, for him to say I can't turn down this amount of money and let us get on with finding a new coach. Honesty is hard for some people though, I guess. That's it, I'm done with the past bs. Here's to moving forward and continuing to get better this season.

I will cherish that season for as long as I can remember it. What a year it was. Provided the only time in my life we've been ranked, albeit the shortest amount of time possible...haha. Unbelievable game atmospheres, high caliber talent, superb team play.....just a joy to watch it all unfold. The unfortunate part is how it all unraveled so quickly.
Yes, and we did it in the short window where it was still possible. You can't build like that anymore though unless you have endless NIL dollars. It's nearly impossible to retain top talent long enough to get the pieces around them you need to have a roster close to ours in that 32 win season.....too much money for college aged kids to turn down.

Actually, I didn't realize Conwell had transferred; yet again. I was watching the UK/UL rivalry game when I spotted him. Conwell was my favorite player on the Sycamore team at the time.
