This is definitely something that happened around the valley. One million dollar donation to Valpo men's basketball...

I really hope one day in the near-ish future they can build a new arena, for the sake of their university, their community, and the valley.

Valpo loses in OT at Marquette. Beacons seem to have a strong freshman class (again). The leading scorer got leg cramps late in the game with Valpo up about 8-10. The second leading scorer in the game fouled out with about 2:30 to play with Valpo up 6. The third leading scorer fouled out in OT. Marquette ekes out the win.'' Unsurprisingly, Marquette was not in any foul trouble.

Watched Morehead St vs Murray on delayed basis on ESPN+. It was close until about 12 minutes to play in the second half, and then Murray pulled away. Neither team looked impressive to me. It just wasn't crisp and effective basketball. Lots of turnovers and poor shooting were on display.

BUT, the game between 8-0 Belmont and 6-1 Richmond was exactly that: a crisp, dynamic display of offense that we have come to expect from Belmont. There were 4 ties and 11 lead changes in the second half, but eventually the Spiders pulled out a narrow win on the road. Belmont is once again a smoothly functioning offensive machine, but its commitment to good defense remains to be proven.
