I think this was player mis management on Graves part. When you have a player with his skills you have to give him playing time so he can develop. Don't know what Graves was thinking all year not giving Merritt some time and continuing to stay with Harding.

I mean, we didn’t see him practice or anything. If he earned playing time, I’m sure coach would have given it to him

100%. Good kid but nothing has proven that Graves mishandled him.

I haven't seen our name connected to him yet, but curious if we've reached out. Former teammate at Panola College with incoming player Enel St. Bernard. From Illinois, so we would be close to home. I'll be watching this one.

Or he was just behind a couple of upperclassmen?.....with Gray graduating there was a massive hole to fill that Merritt would have been in line to compete for. Too bad he chose to leave, I do think he would have been a good player for us.
