I think this was player mis management on Graves part. When you have a player with his skills you have to give him playing time so he can develop. Don't know what Graves was thinking all year not giving Merritt some time and continuing to stay with Harding.
I blame his math instructor...3 hours a week for 16 weeks? I'd leave too.

I want to make a joke but it’s just sad at this point lol
I agree. It is very sad. Coach Powell brought that team along nicely as the season unfolded. The portal, NIL, and on-court rules changes have nearly destroyed the game that I love. Last year I ignored the NCAA tournament because I was so pissed; this year I find myself largely indifferent about the event as it has become a P2 Invitational with some token mids tossed in for appearances purposes. The Golden Goose is honking for mercy and the dunces in charge just keep choking it. I dunno how much more I can tolerate before I give up on the college game.

And besides that Pearl, Sampson, Caliperi, Miller, and Pitino (take your pick, son or father) are all flagrant cheaters who nonetheless continue to be praised by the bball talking heads as tho they’d cured cancer. Coach Waltman was correct about the value of winning vs being an honorable practitioner of the coaching arts. Winning is the ONLY thing that matters a la Lombardi.

To be fair his USF coach got canned, Schertz left, and Miller left. I hate how the transfer portal is, but context is needed.

Had he followed $chertz or if he follows Miller, then it’s a different conversation.

Doubt he does that. More likely he cashes in at IU or a school of similar funding.
