I see value in fully filling the roster. Imo, #14/#15 player would get a scholarship, room & board, & 5K max.

They could be an overlooked freshman or portal transfer. They'd need a dawg mentality, & they would know that the coaching staff believes in them, but significant improvement is needed for PT & before more money is earned.

Honestly, if coaching staff are unable to find someone better, I'd be fine if Cooper Bean was offered the 15th scholarship next season.

So you guys want to get a player cheap that nobody else wants or needs. And he is going to help prepare our game-team.

I think it's quite possible Bean will be 14/15.

I mean, that's sort of the definition of a developmental player. A player that has some skill, could potentially develop into a game asset, but likely a longshot, & can at least be a body in practice. Why not?

Hope so

Players 11-15, if everyone else is healthy, is essentially your scout team. I don’t know how paying NIL to guys 14 and 15 would look like without taking away from others that actually see the floor. But a good scout team with scholarship players would benefit everyone. If they leave in the off-season, at least they prepared the others to be more successful. ( i.e Sam Mervis, Nick Hittle)

In the past your last 2 players were walk-ons so of course they weren't expected to do anything but be practice bodies. The difference now is they can be scholarship players, which means the level of player should be expected to be better.

Furthermore, if high majors are not taking as many high schoolers, the talent didn't just disappear because they're no longer taking them. That means there is a shift right availability/opportunity for a caliber of high school player that wasn't previously available to us. Are you really telling me that you'd rather fill 2 spots with unpaid walk-ons over 2 kids that potentially would have landed at our level or higher in previous years? If so, again, that is a severe logical reasoning flaw.

You fill the entire roster because you're simply increasing the surface area for luck -- it is more likely that one of the kids will pan out. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take -- Wayne Gretzky or Michael Scott, your choice.

A buddy of mine shared that HCMG will be interviewed by Joey O on 99.5 around 4:15pm tomorrow (4/9). Talking much about transfer portal.

Yes. Go for these guys. There are always some that fall through the cracks. They must come in willing to sit. Of course, there are plenty that will appreciate a free education. That's ok, but not a good "bang for the buck." If you hit on one in 10 yrs it costs you $150,000.

@Jason Svoboda you have to remember, Sycamorebacker watched the movie Hoosiers this weekend and was one of only a few on here alive when Milan won the state championship, they both only had 6 players!😂😂
Yep, I’m one of The Few. Watched the Milan vs Montezuma game in ‘54 as a 10 yr. Old. Also, one of THE FEW, and no I didn’t watch Hoosiers this weekend.🤣

Just waiting on Jo and Sivert's announcements. Then we'll have up to 9 scholarships to fill.
Let’s just speed this process up a bit:

“After much considerations. Family. Friends. Gods plan. Thank you Sycamore nation. With that being said. Transfer portal. Next Chapter!” - Boogie & Sivert
