Some of those were deep 3s. Quick release, got some hops, looks like a plus athlete for a "shooter". Looks like a real good get. Could see him taking over the role Hobbs had this year if he can knock down 3s at a pretty good clip.

Let's hope not.

Hobbs reminded me of the Lake Erie Kickout Kid, Jordan Printy. Hobbs, like Printy had one skill, and when that didn't work NEITHER CONTRIBUTED.

I just don't see Shetlar as a ONE DIMENSIONAL player. At least Shetlar shows the guts to go to the rim, something that neither that Lake Erie Kickout Kid I or Lake Erie Kickout Kid II ever demonstrated.

Gotta disagree on this one. If Shetlar comes in as a true freshman and hits 3s at a high clip and gets us 3-5 ppg. I'd say that's a pretty good freshman campaign. Now if he is a senior and gives us 3-5 ppg and only shooting 3s, i'd say that's a pretty disappointing career. It's tough for a true freshman to come in and score at all 3 levels day 1. This kid is a shooter, my guess is Schertz is going to park him around the arc for kickout 3s early on and develop from there. I will be pleasantly surprised if he comes in and scores like Neese (Deep ball, pull up jumpers, and gets to the rim when it's there) but i'll give him a few years to get there.

I think he’s disagreeing with your comparison to Hobbs role which basically just be what you are a 3 point shooter don’t be anything else.

That Shelter can score at the rim and be more of a slasher and hopefully can be a little more dynamic on defense than Hobbs was.

I think it’s the role/player comparison so to speak that he was disagreeing with. Because Shelter is hopefully an upgrade from Hobbs. Has nothing to do with his stats/minutes next year.

I said I hope Shetlar takes the role Hobbs had next season. Gotta Hav said he hope he doesn't.

Probably looking way to much into this conversation. But hell; it's the offseason lets discuss pointless shit. It's our job as fans.

No problem. I'm not sure he will be strong enough next year anyway. Looks might be deceptive, though.

I know the staff is excited about him because he can shoot it from anywhere. The main question is can he come in with the strength and toughness against 23 years olds this year.

Hopefully we can get some scorers in the portal that give him some time to develop.

Just looked up - two kids going to smaller places than us and one picking football over b-ball. Our boy may win player of year in the state! Didn’t Jay Tunnel do that in KS?
