Hearing he’s out for the season potentially. Heart condition didn’t pass physical - probably lucky for him they caught it when they did.

Interesting. When I was at ISU we had a center from an African nation collapsed and died at the arena walking off the floor after practice. He had an enlarged heart. That was 1988 or 89 the old days for you young kids.

Didn't Daughtry have some kind of heart issue when he arrived at ISU? I think he was delayed to begin practicing if I recall correctly.

Good memory, sir! Yes he did have a delayed start here. Not sure on why he had a delayed start and his medical while he was here. I can say for certain his fitness was always an issue - I don’t think that is really up for debate.

We might have dodged one in paying him and he might have dodged on in having a new set of physicals catch it.

I don’t know how they do it these days and my memory isn’t as good as yours is - but when I was an athlete while we typically had an annual physical as an athlete it sorta feels like it wasn’t that comprehensive unless they had a concern or you brought something to their attention.

Those were the dark days for Sycamore Basketball.
Those guys would play at the parks around town and take L’s. But Terre Haute was loaded with hoppers back then
And that was just the 27 Schouse’s 😂 I remember playing a couple games with the, I think it was Dexter maybe, he was unreal!

we would climb in the basement window at St. Joesphs and play all night in the top floor gym. Never knew who would show up.

He’s been cleared to play. Think this was related to his heart thing last year but he’s been diagnosed with HCM and was told he would never play again because there was a possibility he could die on the court. After more tests and more visits he ended up getting cleared. Even though not a Sycamore anymore I couldn’t imagine going through that scary situation.

Yeah… On top of being told you can’t play D1 basketball when you’ve worked your entire life to get to this level. Pretty difficult situation. Hope he stays healthy. Don’t really hope he has a good season or a bad season - don’t really care about that once you leave here. But do wish him the best of luck and good health.
