we are as hot as we have ever been in the last 6 years. coming off a blowout win over a FBS team. drew around 7200 the first game for butler which everyone saw us win. hopefully we can get a good campaign going this week so people/students will notice the Western Kentucky game. with ideal weather conditions, i'd settle for 8000+, i'd love to see around 9000.

I'm making an effort to get some local guys I know to come out. Just community people who haven't seen the trees play since the early 2000's. Any ideas ?

I think your enthusiasm will show through when talking about the team. If that doesn't work, guide them to this blog site, or the gosycamores one. If that doesn't work, show them clips from the game last night! If that doesn't work, have them drive by the stadium around noon on Saturday. If it doesn't peak their interest by seeing all the tailgating, then Lord help them.........

It's Terre Haute, strange community. Good luck getting the kind of support that this team deserves. People around here always say, give us a winner and the people will come - I'm not so much convinced of that anymore. Heck, Indiana State can give tickets away and people don't even come to games. This community hasn't supported Indiana State since Larry Bird was on campus and as I told my mom the other night, "that was 30 years ago". lol

ISU needs to promote this game by all means possible, social media, print media, Television ads, e-mails to students, alumni, and on and on.....

Having said that I would hope for 8000+ at this game (assuming weather is good).

Wish we knew what the magic elixir was to put in the Terre Haute water supply. For whatever reason, Terre Haute as a whole just doesn't buy into and support Indiana State.

All I can say is forward this to them and say they could miss out on some exciting players and plays:

Jason, how were you able to get those videos on here?? I know they're from ESPN3, but how'd you do that??
They are posted on ESPN. If you go to the Game Recap, you'll see a videos tab. When you click on that, it'll look like the link below (which is the direct link to the WKU game, for example).

Videos: http://espn.go.com/ncf/video?gameId=312600098

On the right hand side, you'll see a list of clips. If you right click on a clip title, select Copy Shortcut and it will be something similar to:

Id say no more people than last game because the number of Butler fans that padded our numbers. Although I'm dragging a few PU alum with me to the game.

Glad to hear you're only expecting 8 to 9 thou for the game! When we were at Michigan State, the 85,000 made it really difficult to hear the signals! :D

lol, love the sense of humor kilrpengwin, won't take it personal! Fact of the matter is if we get 8,000 we'll be very excited- Hope you can make the trip, weather is supposed to be good. If you do please look and ask for TailGatinTom's RV...we'll buy you a cold refreshment! College football is the best, especially when you can share it with friends and the opposing team's fans!

I'll bet our 18,000 for the last game sounded as loud as your 8000! Fans here sit on their hands. It's embarassing watching the coach down on the field trying to whip up enthusiasm. Penguin road fans are always much louder, so we'll help you with thee noise. As far as my crew going to the game, it all hinges on my working Saturday. i'll find out Friday. Won't wish you good luck saturday you understand, but certainly on the rest of your season. If any team deserves it it's ISUb

Thanks! You are certainly right on that.

I'd like to see some kind of "Target 10,000" campaign this week. People like goals and milestones. Make it a big deal to get attendance to 10,000 and promote it like hell in the community and on campus. Giving people another purpose to be there and to feel like they made a difference could definitely help boost the numbers. I think with the right efforts, 10,000 is very attainable.

Frustrates me to watch the terrible call during Carters interception for a TD. I thought it was bad watching in person and it's even worse watching the replay...to take the TD away from him was a shame...one of many very bad calls Saturday night. Oh well, got the "W", let's move on!

Barring any kind of losing streak between now and then, I truly believe that the Homecoming game against WIU could reach 10,000 for the first time in 20-30 years. Of course, bad weather will kill any chance of that but if the weather holds off and the team keeps winning, and the athletic department can figure out how to get people INSIDE the gate and out of the parking lot, it will happen. If they could get HALF of what is out in the parking lot, it's almost a guarantee!
