I've got just one meme, for the aforementioned babbling talking-points.
I've got just one question AssHat-

So vicious. Was it necessary to go the AssHat- route, when all that was required was the last statement?I've got just one question AssHat-
Tell me which statements are incorrect?
Rick Pitino from Iona to Indiana State![]()
meh... ncaa div i coaching gigs aren't a "jobs program" to provide "opportunities..."Never said I hate Lansing. I would just love to see someone else get an opportunity.
See Tates Locke, ex Indiana State men's basketball coach then talk to me about ISU coaches character. Underhanded deals took on an art form up there with their futile desire to become an ACC Championship basketball school. Coach Tates Locke was the man in charge when the boosters and administrators made the call to "do whatever it takes". Tates Locke cheated at Clemson then hired by Indiana State.
You are badmouthing a coach who put ISU on the map but had to step aside due to health problems?neither King nor Hodges could hold onto the job for more than 4 seasons
????????You skipped over a 3-4 job / 14-year period of Locke's coaching tenure but...
To my recollection, Locke never "schtupped" a "fan" on a table in back room of the Saratoga.
To my recollection, Locke never convinced a staff member to MARRY the bat-sh*t crazy fan
To my recollection, Locke never offered to pay for abortions.
To my recollection, Locke never ran a whore house out of Mills, Blumberg or ANY of the Sorority "stairwells" at Lincoln Quad.
You are badmouthing a coach who put ISU on the map but had to step aside due to health problems?
I get it, but usually the new hire is polar opposite from the current guy. Otherwise why would you make a move?the game is about more than recruiting... I'd prefer any future new head coach to have some head coaching experience, some experience running a program
some coaches are great at recruiting, some at Xs and Os, etc
I don't want a recruiter running a program, I want a Head Coach running a program
Honestly, the college landscape has also become more about recruiting. The teams with the best players win, not the best systemsbecause damn near everyone runs a similar offense. Look at the erosion of the genius Coach K as Duke hasn't landed the top players consistently anymore. His system worked because he had the best of the best.I get it, but usually the new hire is polar opposite from the current guy. Otherwise why would you make a move?
I am very fascinated to see the new coach’s salary. It will signal where they think the expectations should be for this program.Honestly, the college landscape has also become more about recruiting. Damn near every NBA offensive anymore centers around the pick and roll/ball screen action and then when those fail, dribble drive hero ball. The premium has become on top tier big athletes that can 3&D and stretch 4s that can create spacing for guards to be multi-dimensional.
As long as the next coach runs some variation but is a PLUS recruiter and can hire PLUS recruiting assistants, we have a shot. The Valley has transitioned during Lansing's time from being able to get away with having a solo star with a couple nice pieces to teams having multiple scorers that can shoot at every spot in the lineup.
That’s what is so interesting! They are letting a legitimately fine coach, on a below average deal, walk at the end of the year.Jason.......as you might suspect.....my question is.....where exactly is the money going to come from?
That question is not directed to you specifically....but more a general question.
I've seen the "polar opposite" scenario in the pro ranks -- especially with a franchise that is wholly committed to their players under contractI get it, but usually the new hire is polar opposite from the current guy. Otherwise why would you make a move?
Replacement list, these guys would take the job with current salary. These guys deserve an opportunity.
Cornell Mann (assistant Mizz)
Doug Novsek (former ISU assistant)
Bret Campbell (Indiana native)
Stan Gouard (D2 coach with Indiana ties)
