Last night I was one of Indiana State fans giving him a standing ovation when he took the court last night.

Early in the FB season, I commented that it seemed that the top 10 teams were a lot closer together this year based on what I had seen on ESPN+. I didn't have an expectation that an Illinois State team that seemed behind NDSU, SD, SDSU and ND and possibly YSU and even SIU which smacked it by nearly 30 in the season finale could accomplish what it has done. Of course, it took a miracle finish at NDSU to come from down 14-28 with about 4 minutes to play to win 29-28, but other than that the Redbirds have been pretty dominant.

Illinois State received about 4,300 tickets for the title game. Based on the seating chart, it appears tickets are NOT being sold in the endzone seats so the capacity will probably be about 35-40,000 rather than Vandy's 55,000. List price is $158/seat or higher.

Montana State will be a cat of a different color, and it should be a whale of a battle. If the Redbirds can pull out a win, it will demonstrate conclusively the tremendous depth of talent in the MVFC

So, this joke about ND’s football schedule being cupcake on FB. Has Indiana State on the schedule.

With the quarter finals coming up, I just wonder what IU has with their game against Alabama. Their defense has to play lights out, and just like all teams in these matchups, they have to fight a way to run the ball.
Ole Miss and Georgia is another matchup that has the making of a great game. Trinidad has to be Trinidad, and the play calling needs to get the ball out of his hands quickly, and he will have to run over and over to escape that pressure. And, Lacy will have to have a career day. Again, they will need to control the game with running the ball. Georgia has a much better defense from their first matchup, but so does Ole Miss!!
I’m thinking Tech beats Oregon, and Ohio State moves on with a convincing win over Miami.

Hawaii came back from a 21-0 deficit to defeat California 35-31 in the Hawaii Bowl. The Rainbow Warriors scored the game winning TD with 14 seconds left in the game.

There are some constants in this world upon which one can always count. One of them is the constant repetition that the SEC is the BEST, DEEPEST conference that plays anybody, anywhere, anytime. That claim was deemed worthy of some investigation.

The SEC's games in 2025 against opponents from various conferences are shown below, along with where that non-conference opponent finished in its own conference. The SEC claims that its bottom half is better than the top half of the other conferences, and, of course, it has those non-conference victories to back up those claims. Or does it?

The ACC is constantly DERIDED as the worst of the major conferences. Its representative in the CFP didn't make the ACC title game after suffering two losses to teams characterized as inferior to SEC teams.

Vs the ACC: Teams finishing in top 10 in ACC play went 4-2 vs SEC plus add in 13th place Fl. State beating CFP Alabama. Only Top 4 Georgia's 7 pt win over GaTech is
noteworthy.

Big 10

Last Bowl season, the Big 10 went 5-1 versus SEC Teams. In 2025, we find one quality win; one quality loss; one win over the 15th place team. Hardly impressive; also, the SEC teams are two playoff teams and pre-season #1 Texas.

Washington State lost to JMU, Oregon State, and North Texas. Resaonably Quality losses to UVA and U. Washington

That Washington State game against Ole Miss is a strange One. I can’t think of anything to say but just one of those games?

Redbirds are the first FCS team to make the finals playing all 4 teams on the road. Very impressive!! Brock Spack should get some looks from bigger teams.
Brock Spack is fine right there in Bloomington with the Redbirds. I'm sure he's making plenty of money at Illinois State. Bigger is not always better.

Agree, especially with being 63 y/o. He has job security until he chooses to retire, & would be a legend to the community of Illinois State.

Or, does he look at Cignetti & wonder if he too could have late career success at a FBS school while tripling his salary?

I'd venture that if was wholly about a FBS gig, he'd have been working his network since day 1 but he's hitched his wagon to three HC who were all assistants during his undergrad days... Bob Spoo - HC at Eastern Illinois (ass't at Purdue 1978-1986), Jim Colletto (ass't at Purdue 1982-1984) and Joe Tiller (ass't at Purdue 1983-1986); Spock played for Purdue 1980-1983.

Doughnuts to Dollars, he stays at Normal Bloomington until he has his Sherrone Moore moment -- which I doubt happens.

If he got a FBS gig, it would be G5. Do you really want to give up a job where you can actually win to go to where you'll instantly be at the bottom of the barrel and behind the NIL 8-ball at his age? No way in hell would I do that unless I got like $10M guaranteed and knew it was my last job.
