Off topic, but I saw Rhett Smith at the game and I didn't realize how thick he is. He looks like he'll be ready physically to compete next year. Only if he could grow about 6 more inches.......

Yeah he'll be the strongest guy on the team next year. I wish he was 7'1!

These guys are not terrific scorers or shooters; they are not terrific rebounders; they are not terrific ball handlers. Well then, you ask, what are they? Simple--they are winners!

If you took this as negative, you need to visit a proctologist and get your head back on straight. Yes, we have guys that can shoot, rebound, score, handle the ball. We also have some that struggle in one or more of these categories. But when everyone of the guys is doing well in what they individually do best, and they are doing it together, they are very hard to beat. Sometimes winners don't have to play very well or very hard to win. These guys have proved that. I doubt that anyone goes undefeated in the conference--that's really tough. I don't think we are going to lose many though. Hopefully we lose fewer than any other team in the Valley and go undefeated in Arch Madness.

The game was pretty much what I thought it would be and reading many of the posts alot of us thought would be and thats a dog game that meant nothing to this team . I would have rather seena few guys play a few less minutes but hey its the nature of the beast. The team won weather it being as a result of great team defense or a shitty team they were facing . It doesnt mean anything other than a W in the record book. Its time to look forward to a great confrnce victory in Des Moines.

Hey, everyone wants this squad running on all cylinders heading into MVC play. We clearly SPUTTERED this past game despite winning by double digits. Not the type of machine performance you want a few nights before the "big race." Everyone will get over it...but the concerns are justified.

As SSOM and others stated, "WE play to the level of our opponet."

But WHY do we do that? What a horrible character trait to have.

The team simply must be challenged, both individually & collectively. We'd played L-Monroe OTR earlier and won by double digits. Our players INTERNALLY felt no threat. As most will agree, it's a fairly natural human motivational issue.
In a nutshell, it's a coaches responsibility to push the right buttons to prevent this. Sometimes the circuitry shorts out!:)

That's sometimes the most difficult part of coaching.

"2. No it wasn't the same ISU team, both Koang and Kitch played in this game. Neither of them played vs. Vandy."

OUCH!

It wasn't a slight at all - it was a smart ass response to what I viewed as a silly question. Sorry if you took it that way, he asked if it was the same team - and I wanted to give the most logically answer possible, no it wasn't the same team because 2 players played that didn't play in the previous game.

Kitch has played well in his limited mins. I've got no problem with what he's been able to do.
