The Kleuh Level
With both sides citing "great D," sounds a lil' fishy, doesn't it?
Perhaps we were still hung over from that long return trip from Nashville on Sunday morning...

I am not going to say there wasn't good defense being played on both sides, but at some point bad offense took that game over. We play good defense, but when a team scores 35 points, I would say that is TERRIBLE offense. It was just a poorly played game all the way around.
The answer to the question, I believe, is the 79-80 team. Don't quote me 'cause I didn't research it. It has been awhile since we have started out this strong.
You know if you were to double both teams production the score would have been 100 to 70 and we win by thirty. Either way we were thirty percent better than them and that's a great win. Look and see how many teams win by that margin not many.
Negative, Negative, Negative! Cheer up, could be worse! We are a 9-2 ball club. Someone please help me when is the last time we finished the non conference with a better record than 9-2? Please help? Hurry? The fact that it doesn't come to mind should tell you something. Be happy with what we have - Lansing said last night, his job as a coach isn't to make the fans happy - his job is to win basketball games and he's winning basketball games with the players he has. Look, I will tell you right now that he doesn't have the biggest, fastest, most athletic, best shooting, best rebounding, best anything team in the country - but what we are is 9-2 and we enter conference play with a very respectable non conference record. Now be gone with your negative comments...
On 92.7 last night coach actually apologized to the fans for a crappy game. I don't know why everyone is supposed to see roses and rainbows after every game. Truth is, that game sucked!! If you don't think so, then you are not being honest with yourself. ISU shot 39%. My point is they are WAY too good to play like they did. I am critical during a win because I believe they are capable of better. I understand every game is not going to be their best, but what I don't understand is (imo) a lack of energy and effort. You say we are 9-2...I say we should be at least 10-1, if not 11-0. There are some issues with the team and pretending everything is great doesn't change that. So what you see as "being negative", I see as being realistic. It's not like anybody is calling for the coaches head or to bench players. Everyone just wants to see them play their best and be ready for the Creighton's and WSU's. There will be ups and downs still to come, but I really think this team can beat the best in the Valley if they stay mentally sharp throughout the season. :sycamores:
2 questions for you SSOM:
#1- Did you feel great walking away from the ULM game?
#2- Did you think the ISU team that played Vandy was the same team that showed up against ULM?
Quoted from the ESPN.com blurb:
"It’s the fewest points allowed by the Sycamores since the shot clock was introduced in 1985-86."
This is what I'm focusing on from the ULM game.
How many teams have held their D-1 opponent to 35 points this season...a legit question.
\These guys are not terrific scorers or shooters; they are not terrific rebounders; they are not terrific ball handlers. Well then, you ask, what are they? Simple--they are winners!
