Kaizen - he continually grew his wallet.
Football aside. He wanted out. We gave him every reason to stay. He did not want to be in Terre Haute, nor Indiana State. You can only bend over so much. Kaizen - he continually grew his wallet.
Ill bet that math doesnt workWe could match the offer if we cut football. So there's that.
So if all these players leave, are all these players going to go down this weird "Jake Laravia Path"....where we kinda remember them as being Sycamores...but on the other hand, we kinda don't...??
Do we treat him the same or worse as a guy who went to a bigger deal location then transferred for his last year when he realized he couldn't cut it thereJake who?
Ill bet that math doesnt work
This more than anything reveals the true $hertz. He played the donors, the fans and the media. He had ZERO intentions of staying. Just waiting for the "I only did it for the players" $tatement.Oh, he's been gone unofficially for months now. I was doing a deep dive on some things last night and between the rumor about what the Drake fans had heard with regards to "recruiting for the A10" and several prominent $LU twitter accounts following and twattering at him starting in January/February, the rumors of his agent pursuing $LU make a lot more sense now.
The fact that he has Sycamore fans now turning on Deb (she definitely deserves it but there is a time and place) versus discussing stuff of importance moving forward... man, maybe he is more like Pitino and Cal than we realized.
Yes, I can’t stand him now. Not because he left, but because of how he left. He seemed like such a great guy, but the past few months showed he was shallow and insecure at best, and a con man at worst. He handled this so poorly. And for his brother to jump on here yesterday to talk about how gut wrenching this was for him just continued the pathetic attempt of trying to seem like a good guy while gutting the program. He’s been gone for months. All of the media attention this season wasn’t about him building the program, it was about him building his brand. He will forever be my least favorite person in college basketball. Again, not because he left. I knew he’d likely move on. But because we got a chance to see his true character and desperate need to be liked. This more than anything reveals the true $hertz. He played the donors, the fans and the media. He had ZERO intentions of staying. Just waiting for the "I only did it for the players" $tatement.
Not only a good coach, but even a better liar. Just went through the motions. Let’s go get Huggins.I mean I maintain it was between $900-$1.3 million. But $850 is close enough. Whatever. If he’s walking away from $850 he’s walking away from $1.3. The deal was done and he mislead an entire fan base. People were lied to. That’s the bottom line.
Not getting over a million is shameful if that’s the case.I mean I maintain it was between $900-$1.3 million. But $850 is close enough. Whatever. If he’s walking away from $850 he’s walking away from $1.3. The deal was done and he mislead an entire fan base. People were lied to. That’s the bottom line.
I'm curious for specifics so I understand all this vitriol...what lie did he (or his agent) say and to whom and when? Specifics please. And did he draw a line with specific amounts such as "If we can get X NIL money or Y salary money I'll stay"?I mean I maintain it was between $900-$1.3 million. But $850 is close enough. Whatever. $850k was what they rounded up from the first meeting. It only went up from there. Not that I give a fuck at this point but wouldn’t $850k put him only behind Jacobson and I am confident our offer went up. Semmler is only reporting shit that makes ISU look bad.I mean I maintain it was between $900-$1.3 million. But $850 is close enough. Whatever. Your news from Arch Madness most likely turns out to be true, but that’s where the lies begin.I'm curious for specifics so I understand all this vitriol...what lie did he (or his agent) say and to whom and when? I'm genuinely curious for the specifics because I heard the opposite from someone very much in the know (who has never led me wrong on insider ISU stuff) over a month ago--before Arch Madness even--that Schertz was as good as gone which is why I posted "he's gone" a few weeks ago much to the chagrin of many on here at the time.
Your news from Arch Madness most likely turns out to be true, but that’s where the lies begin.
-He continued to negotiate from that point and laid out parameters for what it would take for him to stay.
-he gave specifics on improvement/access to facilities
-Our salary offer certainly increased since your information.
-Players and parents both expressed their desire to stay at ISU.
-He continue to move the goal posts throughout the process and it turns out that is likely because he was just stringing us along to make it feel like he wasn’t as good as gone.
Josh Schertz never had the best interest of the ISU program and he certainly didn’t care about the man who brought him a ton of fame-Robbie Avila. Robbie himself would have stayed with Schertz while also getting bigger outside offers (he did last year). Robbie Avila got screwed by Josh Schertz when JS took the SLU job. Robbie’s family should not trust him one bit.
