You all are big, wet, soft, fucking gashes.

"During his first season at Winthrop, Marshall invited players to his house for his son Kellen’s second birthday. Kellen had gotten a new Wiffle ball set and was playing in the front yard with the players. The ball cracked, and the players told Kellen it was OK, they’d get him a new one. Marshall came outside and, upon finding out what happened, grew angry and grabbed one of his players by the shirt and threw him against a wall. The other players intervened and separated them. Dan Tollens recalls Marshall’s wife, Lynn, saying: “I just hate when he gets like this.”

Looks like Goodman may have actually picked on the story from a former Winthrop player.

Does anyone actually think Wichita will hold Gregg Marshall accountable? They've never had any morals over there. Give it time and they will sweep all of this under the rug.

Ten years ago? No doubt about it. Today? I'd be shocked -- no pun intended.

The fact it is now coming out about Winthrop and those players saying they went to the school and nothing was done, even if he remains, it is likely going to be very difficult for him moving forward. I think the quicker Wichita State gets in front of the situation, the better their program will likely do going forward. It's still a great job and will be in high demand, no football to contend with, great alumni and financial support, etc.

Jeff Goodman tweets this morning ..................

Good riddance. If even half of what has been reported is true, college basketball will be better off without him in the game.

Over on Shockernet someone posted this today:

"Shockers Unfiltered on FB is reporting they fired him for cause today. The rumor is things got contentious and Marshall had to be escorted off campus. Just FB rumors. I cannot substantiate it."

They're also saying he has been absent from practices this week.

Interesting they fired him. Remember the days of Bob Knight where a coach like that could hang around for years and years?

Basically using his absolute power to be corrupt isn’t surprising. I doubt he’d pick a fight with young men that he’d never do without being in a position of power.

I hope he never makes it back to coaching, let alone D-1. I wish Bobby Knight had gotten the same thing too. You’re supposed to these kids mentors, not their abusers.

I can understand coaches that break the recruiting rules should be punished, but it’s not like other powerhouses aren’t doing it either.

$7.75 Million to go away. Wow. Just, wow.

hell - wasnt gloomington paying about the same amount after they fired knight & davis AND hired / fired sampson?

$7.75M is probably less than what louisville was paying slime ball pitino, petrino AND their lawyers AND the new head coaches

Wichita City College LIKELY got every nickel from Baron Koch

Tells me the school knew about everything at the time they occurred and didn't want it to go to court. Got to think the AD falls on the sword, too.

Agree here. I would think they would easily be able to fire him if they hadn't looked the other way too long. wouldnt it be on GM to sue to claim owed money if they did?
