The consequences only happened because someone took offense to him exposing his boxers by having his shorts too low. He was asked to leave the airplane because it allegedly violated US Airways' "dress code" (searching the US Airways website and Contract of Carriage reveals no such dress code except for something called AD75 booking) but the hypocrisy comes from the fact that he was asked to leave, but cleavage (which exposes much more flesh but is "sexy" and not "a menacing black man"?) is acceptable, middle-aged white guys showing "plumber's crack" is acceptable, and so on. The hypocrisy is why people are taking issue with this.
