Hmmm - I have never done the walk, being a student athlete kind of means you shouldn't partake in that event while a student athlete - don't really know that I have any desire to do that no either...

But I have family coming in town for homecoming and have 8 tickets and we are all really looking forward to homecoming and everything that surrounds the event! And you :censored: thought that I wasn't a Sycamore fan - sike!

I was more talking about Tent City. I'll be at the Kappa Alpha Order tent if anyone wants to drop by and say hello.

Walk, Tent city with KA obviously, Trike Race, and all of the other homecoming stuff. Mitch Albom is speaking too. Should be pretty good I forgot which day he is speaking though. I know it's in Tilson.

I'm not going to the homecoming festivities or the homecoming game this year, I have other priorities that weekend, I am going to Evansville for a college visit, and in the afternoon I am going to the Indiana homecoming game.

Ummm...wasn't IU homecoming last Saturday? At least, it was according to about 30 people I know that are IU alums that went to the game last weekend.

The more and more you post, you don't sound like an Indiana State fan at all. Butler basketball fan, going to IU Homecoming, etc... this is exactly the type of students that ISU ends up getting and why our turnout to events is so terrible.

You are right and it's his loss. He's trying to validate his low self-esteem.

I personally think that Jlandrus23 is an example of the situation at ISU with student involvement. Whether or not he is a student, he appears to have the same perspective of a majority of the students. Of course I am generalizing, here. But I think the main issue or place to start is with orientation. If you create the idea, the concept, the belief that attending ISU events is paramount, then it will become paramount. But that doesn't happen at ISU. Orientation has improved, but it still needs much more. Orientation is still completely and almost totally focused on the academic side of things, with little focus on extra cirricular activities such as sports, concerts, Greek Life, etc. ISU needs to understand that in-coming students know they are coming to school, they know they are going to get a ear full about classes, majors, etc. And that is important, but it is also important for retention to get students excited about ISU, one of the major ways that can happen is through orientation. Create the feeling of excitment, develop the other parts of the college experience!

You guys have no idea of who I am so why are you stereo typing me as if you know me. Yeah, I am a huge Butler fan, and I don't have a low self-esteem, as some of you on this site do, but yes I did make a mistake in my last post I meant to say ISU homecoming game, I accidentally put IU, and that Evansville trip was last weekend, my bad guys.

We understand...most people in America think LB went to IU! But E-ville??? Give us a break...:evileye:

I've been reading this board off and on since I became a student here last year but I am going to speak out now. I have attended every home ISU football game, basketball game (except Chritmas break), and about half of the home baseball games last year as well as other sporting events. I was also one of the 6 students at our MVC tourney game last year against Drake (very embarassing). But enough about me. The point I want to make is that there is a huge problem with "fans" of other schools somehow even though they go here. I wish there were more than 10 people like me on this campus. I am sure that there are students here that would root for IU against ISU in a basketball game or ND against ISU in a football game for example. It really sickens me when I see people wear an IU hat or a ND jacket every day to class. I am so very proud to call myself a Sycamore but some people here just don't get it becasue they don't see our games on ESPN. I have no idea how to solve this problem except to get mad at people lol. Despite all this, you can find me in the 1st or 2nd row of every men's game this year and I am going to try to do the same for women's basketball. As for homecomming, I will be at the game. I'm still a year away from doing the walk!
