ok, time to stop fretting over the UNI loss yesterday, it's HOMECOMING week at ISU and this has the potential to be the largest homecoming in DECADES folks!

So how many people attend the game?? I will start by saying 9000+ and if the weather cooperates then MAYBE over 10,000

what do you all think??

oh, and I also predict a big ISU win over WIU, the team will be looking to get back on the winning track!

I'm saying a HUGE WIN for the Sycs, with a near sell out crowd. I know a lot of people I work with are coming to the game, those that haven't been to see an ISU football game in a long time, some who have never seen them play.
And I hear there is going to be a large number of Washington people coming to support the three ISU players from a small town, #s 92, 96 and 39!
KICK BUTT SYCS!!!!!!

These guys deserve a sellout. None were hanging their heads last night, and have moved on to the next game. The common comment of the players: "We owe Western..." I look for them to get back on track with a very impressive win next week.

i'd expect 10,000. but i feel that we can draw more if we are still ranked and the weather is good like it should be. so i'm expecting 10,000 hoping for 11,000.

If the Bears at 0-4can have 14800 then at 0-5 have 10700, you guys better bring in 10000+ or people are really gonna miss the show! I hope with homecoming you guys bring in 12000+

Ok, the old grump in me is coming out. We'll have 20,000 people on the stadium grounds, but 7,000 will take the bottle (or can) away from their lips long enough to actually come into the game. And that'll be sad, since the Trees will put an old fashioned butt-whoopin' on the Leathernecks...

We'll still be ranked. The weather STILL looks perfect so I am thinking that this will be a good crowd. We all need to push those people around us in Tent City to ATTEND the game, period. I will concentrate on it, this I know.

Notre Dame - OFF
Indiana @ Wisconsin
Purdue @ Penn State
Colts either @ Cincy or scouting Andrew Luck
Forecast 63 and partly cloudy
ISU Top 20

This is the Perfect Storm for a large crowd.

Don't forget the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival starts this weekend. That might hurt attendence.

I'll predict 8,500, hope I'm wrong but then again this is Terre Haute.

It's sad that I would not be surprised by this. a lot of Wabash valley-ites simply need to be educated on exactly how good these guys are. When I made the trip for the Youngstown State game, I was amazed at the amount of people that still thought we were struggling, as I checked into my hotel the attendant said, "Indiana State football? It's sad they struggle so much."
I looked at him with bug eyes and asked, "When was the last time you watched the news?"

I think a lot of people will want to come see Shakir. If it is annouced he can't play I think it will hurt attendance. I think attendance could be hurt also with the fact so many hotel rooms are booked by cross country fans and teams. That being said unless the weather gets worse I am going to say 8500. Which I believe is about 2000 more than last year.

You really must be kidding!!!!!! If that is their only reason to come they need to stay home.....

I wonder at what point they would stop selling tickets? I know the stands seat 12,700, but we've got tons of SRO room. Would they just keep selling tickets and whistle while looking the other way? (I know of a basketball regional at Hulman Center in the '80's at which they just kept selling tickets and had an unofficial count of 12,000+.) If we ever got to the point where this was an issue, I wonder how "full" the place could get...

I see several people with lawn chairs sitting on the hill on the visitor side. Can any one bring a lawn chair in and sit there with a general admission ticket? I have season tickets but I was just curious.

everybody be sure to walk by the track/cross country tent as we'll have a lot going on there!

I hate it, but have to agree with some that mention those that stay outside during the game, and the covered bridge festival and the XCC meet too. Though I think we will have a great crowd at the game, I don't see it breaking into 5 digits, I think less than 10,000 will be "paid" attendance. But if you go out to "tent City" during the game you will probably find another 800-1500 or so still hanging out...

Will you have the plans for the new indoor AND outdoor tracks on display? How about the Triple Crown trophies? Attendance figures for the last 15 National Championships? Photos of current MVC coach off the Year? National Champions?

You get the idea, you guys have a lot to be proud of!

Not to totally rob this thread, because it's all in support of getting more alums out to see the Sycamore football team. Tom James - I hope you appreciate our efforts. You above all others my friend!

HAHAH Would you like us to have some of those things on display??? We can make some of those things happen for sure. I know the coaching staff will be in attendance. It is a busy week/weekend for them with Pre Nationals being on Sunday. Alumni are actually hosting the party - it's really open to anyone wearing Sycamore gear!

Oh and BTW, I know what you meant but "you guys" is actually you also. You get the point!
