Could be. To me, having a joint presser sounds like they offered an extension and he declined and decided to walk away. Then the use it to say it was mutual parting. Otherwise, just makes zero sense to have your outgoing coach there. The AD simply should thank him for his contributions to the program and University and wish him good luck at his next stop/future endeavors.

Further, if he did decline an extension, he really needs to say as much to stop the national media from piling on. Yes, our administration handled this laughably but if he truly loved the program, school and Terre Haute like he says all the time, he needs to end the onslaught. All it will do is further cast the University in a negative light and undo the foundation he put in place. If it were my legacy, that would matter. The next coach potentially has a pretty nice foundation funding aside.
Right, could very well be "they offered me an extension but without a raise."

Lansing's name is already starting to circulate around the Iowa State job.

He's down the list, for sure, but seems to be on it.

Almost universal condemnation of this move on Twitter. I think Clink/Curtis have seriously misjudged this move.

Bottom line get rid of Curtis, run her out of town, a dual press conference, when was the last time u heard that ?
I think Greg just thought, their was just not enough luv by the administration, even though he probably was given an extension.
Now we loose the core of the team, Key, Jake, Williams, Larry, will be be looking at 5-7 wins next year.
Yes, we have a beautiful arena, but winning puts fans into the arena.
This Curtis, knows nothing about basketball. Get her out!

Glad they didn't wait until March 31st, and happy this is over with. For all the rah-rah talk about GL's wins, I believe he ended up tying Waltman for the most LOSSES as an ISU Head Coach....but at least Waltman won a post season game with all of his losses, which is something Lansing NEVER accomplished.

Yep, Lansing lost 164 games in 11 seasons... only took Waltman 10 years to accomplish that feat

Waltman's teams knocked off 4 ranked teams... 2 at Hulman, 1 road, 1 neutral site
Lansing's teams only knocked off 5 ranked teams... 3 on the on road, 2 at Hulman

Lansing leaves with no post-season wins, just like Quitven McKenna
