It wasn’t bad - it wasn't good enough to win on the road and it wasn’t good enough to overcome a shit ass whistle. It was soft.
Our effort has been a problem at times this year - that was predictable. You of all people finding hope in that and not calling it out for what it is piss poor is shocking actually.
Don’t mean to continue to beat a dead horse, and there were more reasons than just this tonight, but in what world do only two opposing players commit a foul all game? Especially with all the ISO that came on our end in the second half. 38/37 minutes from a guard and forward and not a single hand check? Unreal.
I don’t disagree with you on the effort. And what I saw especially from JVB…not diving after the ball in the last play of the first half, and other lack of effort plays in the second half, had me frustrated as hell.
We played a good first half, didn’t play well in the second half, and still had a chance to the very end.

The first half - was one of our best played half’s of the entire season. The second half, our worst. I just can’t find any positivity in that - you overcame a deficit In the first half, being on the road, shitty officiating and poor open 3 point shooting.
How do you not come out of that locker room feeling like we are not only the better team we are going to continue to be the more physical team and get after it on D especially. I just can’t accept that second half from the coaching staff or the players it was terrible.
Don’t let them off the hook and don’t give yourself false hope because it was a decent effort against a top Valley team. That’s not the way forward.

They are not any good. You are kidding yourself. Their own shitty fan base didn’t even come to support them tonight. They had no reason not to have a good turnout tonight. Everyone is home on New Year’s Day and no one came to watch that shitty ass team.
Some of you all gassing them up should go post on the UNI fan form they need more supporters on that forum anyway. We’ve had plenty of fans over the years that love to fraternize with the enemy - I’m sure they’d love you tell them how impressive they were tonight barely got by a meh Indiana State team I’m impressed.

Continuing to illustrate one quality team that they played well against but lost doesn’t do anything to validate your point.
At the end of the day today was the first time I got a chance to see this bohemian Northern Iowa program and they were about what I suspected - shit. We had them throttled in the first half if we could make an open 3. Wide open… This loss was more about us than it was UNI being legitimate.

The KenPom of their “shit” team is 15 spots better than our 2014 team.
Our 2014 team was pretty good. Fun season. I don’t know anyone who would say our 2014 team was shit.
All rankings are not created equal… You go fanboy on that UNI forum they could use some of this hype.
Honestly, after 2023/24 I don’t given a flying you know what about KenPom or NET or anything else…. you think the selection committee is real dialed in on what UNI’s KenPom is right now? Absolutely not.
And honestly, if you’re so high on them - they could use some love over on the UNI forum. Go give them a big giant hug from all of us. I didn’t realize it was the officials plus some of our own fans against us tonight. Never seen someone try to fan so hard for an opponent who is clearly meh.

Someone else stated UNI was a good team. You said they were not a good team and later called them shit. All I did was cite factual evidence that they have been a good team this season and we were competitive with them. Having slept on it, their bullying us at the rim was essentially the difference. Looking at the box @Huff77 posted, I bet 90% of those shots by 7 and 14 came from within 3 feet. Our guys just let them back them down in most cases, too.
