Murray State plays tomorrow at UIC so they'll likely walk into the game at 5-2 in conference. Overall record means jack... they play well at home so it'll be a big road game for us.

Have to win this game, period. I expect nothing less from this group. Drake hit us in the mouth and I think it put us on the right path for the rest of the season

Think Murray still has nightmares from our game at Hulman last year??? At least when Masen Miller enters the game! Boy that was fun.

Yeah I haven't seen Murray play yet... But given the circumstances this has been one of 5 or 6 games I have had marked on the schedule for awhile now as the potential for trouble. If our defense and our rebounding is similar to what we've seen the past two games - we shouldn't have anything to worry about. Murray is not a sound defensive team - I don't know that a good environment can make a below average defensive team suddenly play well enough to control an elite offensive team.

They're very streaky but explosive. I think the really, really miss DJ Burns and his energy and hustle he provided in the post.

Perry is the best mid-range shooter in the Valley and one of the best in the country but he's selfish. While he is their leading scorer, I don't think he is their most important player. IMO, that's JaCobi Wood, who we also offered (and visited) back in the '20 class. If he isn't going, they struggle so I full expect Ju will get this matchup like he got Alston last night.

One thing I also have seen is their fans don't think Prohm is doing very well with his in-game adjustments. So if we scheme something he isn't prepared for, we could be off to the races.

This one has my attention because (despite their record) Murray has some athletic guards that can keep pace with ours. Our three guards have been too much for every other team in the valley so far, and while valley teams can stop one or (sometimes) two of our guards they can’t stop three. Murray has some athletic guys in their backcourt that can keep up with ours on the court, so that is where I get a little nervous as it is on the road.

Think Robbie could be big in this game. Not sure Murray State has the post game to stop him one on one.

We just need to keep doing what we've been doing....keep hitting our offensive stats.....I will say, it will be interesting to see how MS plays us defensely..I think we're gong to see some pretty creative defemsive schemes going forward.......I think MoSt's "selling out to guard the 3 point line" will be the first of many different looks we'll see.....I'm waiting for a box and 1..with somebody trying to chase Swope around.

Murray State's defense isn't all that. It's a good thing our system isn't dependent on just Swope so not worried. The way our system is ran Opponents have to give up something. Also I don't think it would be a good idea to play anything with zone principles against us. We shoot too good for that.

You do realize the intent of a Box And 1 is to eliminate one main scoring threat? Correct? You know like last game where they didn’t play a Box and One, Swope had 12 and we still won by 20. What makes you think that sort of a scheme would be effective against a team where all 5 guys are a threat to score and more importantly than score shoot the 3?

You might send that to Jacobson and Ford to try next time - they both struck out. Jacobson decided to not defend Kent at all which proved ineffective. Ford decided to switch and no help - creating easy mismatch’s and isolation opportunities for Avila.

Looked at the box last night to kinda rehash what I saw before I turned it off and Ellington was the standout but I didn't realize he had 5 offensive boards. Dude shot 13-16 from the floor and I think every shot was within 4 feet.

Looks like he was previously at Eastern Illinois.

Well...Drake beat us when Swope was 1/6 from deep.........Hey..
....I'm not saying it'll work...all I'm saying is we're likely to see teams throw different things at us....and trying to put the clamps on Swope might be one of them.

Hey..Swope is one of the best 3 point shooters in the country...as an opposing coach, I don't know why you wouldn't make it a priority to try to stop him first...and make the rest beat you..

Again..I'm not saying that will work......but I can see upcoming teams trying it at least.
