Larry is doing an excellent job defending this year. He’s taking on our opponent’s best perimeter player each night, and he’s doing it while not fouling. I think that’s important because he’s staying with his man and not just hacking/reaching on defense. He’s one of the better players in the conference at a FC/40 (fouls committed per 40 minutes) of 2.3. He’s also top 10 in the MVC in steal %. He’s also actually improved in many defensive metrics since MVC play started, so he’s improving from being an already strong defender to nearly elite for the league.

With that being said, it’s not just Larry is limited offensively. We know he can’t score the basketball; that’s not new. Unfortunately, he’s also a turnover MACHINE, and especially in conference play. In our 6 MVC games, he has a turnover rate of 26.5%. He was better in the non-con (not great by any means, but better) so hopefully he can get back to closer to his norm for the season, but holy shit it’s been bad.

How much can we sacrifice the issues on the offensive end for the defensive end? He’s legitimately been great on one end and legitimately terrible on the other end. I can’t frankly remember a player who’s been quite this polarizing.

Lebron James is pretty polarizing.

I don't mean polarizing from a social media or societal factor, I'm meaning actually polar opposite strengths and weaknesses.

If Lairy can put the clamps on Mosley tonight, it'll set in motion his reputation as a LOCKDOWN defender, especially among officials. It'll be interesting how the game is called when Mosley has the ball. He obviously has the spotlight currently in his favor. Both he and Prim draw the majority of Bear FT line activity.

People forget, you can carve your niche in the game DEFENSIVELY also. This was Don Buse's gateway to the NBA in the 70's, as was Jerry Sloan.

I'll be in the crowd. I'll make sure we make some noise.
Crowd noise always a huge factor in the HC. With the amount of shots that have been hit against us over the last three years when the crowd does decide to cheer - I’m convinced the opposing team assumes we are cheering for them… Unfortunately we don’t get a higher draft pick when we keep losing.

Grant Pugh didn't do the 6:00 PM Sports so who knows...you know how TH/ISU sports marketing is! For those who desire to get an "alternative" view of the game, here's the MO St feed:

Bears are sagging big time off Larry when he gets it above the arc, especially packing the lane and clogging movement/passing lanes.
