White out game. Fully expecting a win as this will be the worst team we play all season. If we don't win this game then Mallory should be fired right after the game. No excuses. Murray State lost to Butler for crying out loud.

We lost to them last year. What’s the difference YoY? They are both still terrible
If two awful teams play a football game, and no one comes to see it, does it still count as a loss?
This is the "white out" game. So I'm assuming they plan to "white out" the final score, "white out" the attendance numbers, and "white out" the entire memory of this season.
While I don’t agree that he should be fired right after the game, I do believe that a change is in order.
I am not a proponent of firing coaches, but for the sake of the program a change has to be made.
Furthermore, if this season continues in the direction it’s going, Mallory shouldn’t have to be fired he should resign.
If he cares at all about ISU football he should let someone else have a crack at it, before there is nothing for anyone else to have a crack at.
I wish this as well, but we could not possibly afford to buy him out through ‘27.

I agree, that’s why he should resign. He is a good enough football that he can get hired somewhere else. It’s become apparent that he is just not the right fit for this job.
They should make it a grey-out game so it matches the color of the bleachers and concrete.
His contract will expire on December 31, 2027.
Believe he makes roughly $250k/year, so you're looking at a $750k buyout. Considering how football fans didn't want to donate for anything else when we had those discussions, I don't see him being bought out. You've still got 2025, 2026, and 2027 Mallory ball to enjoy. Refresh your drink, my man.
If this season goes a bad as it seems it will, he needs to quit, throw in the towel. He can get another job somewhere as an assistant coach. It’s clear he is not cut out to be the head coach at ISU. He shouldn’t have to be fired. For the sake of ISU football he needs to resign. He’s given the job his best shot.
In theory, I agree with you, but not many people would voluntarily walk away from $750+ thousand. I certainly would not.

I agree. He just isn’t Head Coach material. Go back to being an assistant, and please resign. Terre Haute and ISU deserve better then you.

As bad as Mallory is at least we aren't as bad as we were during the Lou West era. I mean we're still winning a game or two a year, and keeping it close in a few others. The biggest problem with Mallory is that he's just so ultra-conservative that he doesn't have that winning edge we need, and he doesn't seem to have any desire to mix up what he's doing. I think if someone else came in we could have a very competitive team within a couple of seasons.
You could actually make a reasonable argument that under a different coach's leadership this exact team could easily be 4-1 right now. The EIU, HCU, and YSU games were all very winnable games that in my view we probably should have won. The problem I have at this point is that we lose in the same predictable ultra-conservative way all of the time. Against HCU and YSU I don't think we came out prepared either as we fell behind by 3 possessions in the first half of both games. I kind of have to give credit to the staff for making adjustments for us to be able to come back, but we shouldn't have to be digging ourselves out of a hole like that two weeks in a row either. It's just super frustrating.

Also looking at next year's schedule, we might have the most difficult schedule of any FCS school in the country. IU, Montana, and the 4 Dakotas will be very tough games and we play the 4 Dakotas 4 weeks in a row.

Being better than the Lou West era is not difficult to do.
I think Mallory needs to go, but all I'm saying is at least a hypothetical new coach wouldn't be walking into the same disaster that Trent Miles had to clean up. Essentially my belief is that Mallory hasn't completely destroyed the program (yet) to where we'd need a total rebuild.
