Has anyone heard who is on the all-tourney teams and MVP?
Odum would get my vote for MVP and Walker needs to be on the team as well.

Odum and Carter all tourney/along with weems, leonard and mallet. Mallet gets most outstanding player, what a croc!

HAHA The valley never seems to amaze me! Oh well I could care less we are dancing and Mallett and company are not! They can have their awards we got the only hardware that mattered in St. Louis this weekend!!!!:sycamores:

If this doesnt show the MVC's favoritism Idk what does...Thats BS...Odum captivated every MVC fan around...its obvious...

The 2011 State Farm MVC All-tournament team includes Jake Odum and Aaron Carter of Indiana State and Kyle Weems, Adam Leonard and Jermaine Mallett of Missouri State. Mallett is the tourney's Most Outstanding Player, marking just the third time in tourney history the MOP has not been on the winning team.

ISU's 57.7 average on 173 points in three games is lowest scoring average for a tourney champ since Creighton in 1978.

our defense was incredible!

No recognition for Walker??? The people who vote for this should be embarrassed with themselves. Pathetic. As for Mallett and MSU, their offense was dead cold for nearly 12 minutes to start the second half. That's not much of a MVP performance if you ask me.

Yeah. lost the handle and never got a shot on the final posession. Sounds like MVP material. Must be the same people who voted for the all conference teams. Oh well we are dancing and it feels great!

We got what we came for and thats all fine and good... However, how someone other than 13 wins player of the damn thing is beyond me. He hit a buzzer beater to keep us alivr for goodness sakes, not that he is all the sudden qualified by that but I think u get the point... Oh well atleast im not surprised. I said before I left on Friday that I was going to walk out on SUNDAY of that place telling everyone to kiss my ass after we did the same to the Mo Val and I did just that.

Odums twitter, Pick us 7th in the MVC again and see what happens.

Last word? Thanks MVC!

I think voting is done by the media and since MoState had the most media at Sunday's game (All their city TV stations, student and city newspaper and writers that cover them for the KC and St.Louis newspapers) it's no surprise they could corner the market on the MVP.

When LOSERS cast all the ballots...you figure. Only 3rd time in the history tells ya something about the MVC Press & ISU.

We shoved the broom handle deep enough on most of 'em though, didn't we. We'll be back STRONGER next year, will they?

The worst part is like SSOM pointed out. He had a turnover on the last play of the game. The play that could have tied or won it for them. If anything, he was an MOP for us! Just don't get how you don't recognize Walker and Odum better than that.

Bent SouthGrad made that point and it is a good pont!

Mallett's MOP trophy can collect dust in a closet or cardboard box in a year.

The Sycamores can look at their shiny championship rings forever, a perfect token which shows how a complete team effort it truly was. I'll take a championship banner any day. And I am so happy for Jake Kelly...

:sycamores:

This may be the norm, and I'd it is I apologize. But...did anybody else find it bush-league that nobody from MO State came out and accepted their 2nd place trophy? None of their players came out to accept their all-tourney team plaques either.

Just seemed off to me. The guys at the podium looked confused as to what they were supposed to do with the trophy.

Stats aren't everything--Odum was clearly the most important player in the tournament, and had the biggest impact. Walker was huge, even if the stats weren't there. It was great to see Kelly drain the 2 free throws after everything he's been through. What an enjoyable tournament to watch!
