Jason, if you created this, embarrassment is spelled wrong.

If you didn't create it...maybe the person that did create it will see this.

Below is an email I sent to her this afternoon.

Growing the University?

What are your plans to help regain enrollment at Indiana State University? Every year that you have been the leader of the university, the enrollment has gone down. In life, you either make excuses for failures or you get to work and find ways to get things done. You have shown the ability to NOT get things done.

I have an idea that would have helped market the university: hosting the Super Regionals for the baseball program. An event that is nationally televised and an opportunity to showcase the University, Campus and Athletic Programs. This is something the university has never had the opportunity to do, yet the opportunity arises and you 100% lay the blueprint of what not to do. For the last 48 hours, you have embarrassed the university.

We’ve heard conflicting reports on the reasons for not being able to host.

Please explain to the people as to how the facilities on campus couldn’t accommodate baseball and special Olympics. The Terre Haute REX are playing games at Bob Warn Field this weekend so that argument is already flawed.

Was there any attempt to find a way to host the regional at a location within a reasonable distance that the baseball team could have a home field advantage?
With future success from athletics, how can the students, community and alumni trust that they have full support from you?

I think the best thing you could do is resign from your position immediately. You have shown you do not have what it takes to be an example of others to follow.

Thank you for your time

I heard she hired Butters from South Park to pre read and filter her social media. She is only given the positive emails. She got like,.. 4 emails today!

This needs to be sent to the Governor and Bot members
The BoT members are aware of the public outcry (certainly doesn't hurt to send it). At the state level I'm afraid it will just be seen as more reason not to contribute funding to Indiana State and to reduce-fund us out of existence.

They extended her. I've also heard some third hand commentary as to the reasoning they did and it's not rooted in any real world performance or success metrics. That's a problem in itself.

Last year's enrollment was 8,658 and ended at 7,834 in Spring. It will be interesting to see where the enrollment for the upcoming school year sits when they announce it here in a couple months. We are getting dangerously close to a spot where we will be forced to consider dropping entire academic programs or athletics altogether if something isn't done to right the ship.

We came up as a teacher's college and this year we dropped below 1,000 students in the entire College of Ed. It's dire.

Given the overt, covert assaults (verbal, implied, etc) on so many teachers today - is it surprising that the College of Education is shrinking?

No, I'm not surprised people are not entering the profession, but I wouldn't expect a flagship program that we put a lot of money into to be that poor. Keep in mind that is the entire Bayh College of Ed and the teaching majors are just a piece of it.

We also are down to single digits in some major programs.

Nursing is also down, there is no reason for this with the need for nursing, enrollment at other places is up!

Did anyone else see the reason Debbie Does ISU was even at the County Council Meeting? She was already on the agenda before the baseball mess. She was there begging the Council to give her $500K in Covid relief funds so she could build another daycare center on campus that the estimated cost was double that. She is building daycare centers while Purdue just announced yesterday rollout of building a new Hypersonics major that will further expand their technologies department. And people wonder why we can't compete with other state schools!!!! She IS KILLING US!!!!

...and the NEA/AFT cry about "teacher shortage" whenever contract negotiations surface. Wonder what "RapCat" thinks about this?

I'd like to hear about this "3rd Hand Commentary"...and cornerstones that FRAME it.
