First game of the Gulf Coast Showcase MTE.

Watched ECU play Mercer and they were behind almost the entire game and won by a bucket. They're led by Javon Small, a PG from South Bend who we offered back in the day and their big time player is a 6'8" 210lber Brandon Johnson. In that Mercer game, he basically got his shot wherever he wanted it.

They had another kid Felton that was having an off night but the announcers hyped him up as being a legit scorer. They also had a 7 footer that was capable when he was in there as he had to play due to some dude on Mercer that was like 13 feet tall.
 
First game away from the Hulman Center.

Looking at ECU’s results so far this year I would expect the Trees to open as the favorites.

Really need to take care of business in game 1 with the opportunity to play top 75 team Toledo. Would love to finally win of these MTE’s.
 
On paper ECU doesn’t look very good. They were picked to finish last in the American with no players receiving any preseason team recognition. Will have to dig in more over the next couple of days, but we will definitely be the best team they have played all year.

Neutral court always can make things interesting.

First game of the season in which I don't feel extremely confident. Still feel good, I think we're the better team, but I really hope that our guys aren't thinking ahead to Toledo.

Our depth will be a problem for ECU.
