It was 7.5 hours until tip-off and I had to wonder...

Will we win this game by 10+ points? Ugh.
Could we win this game by 20+ points? Hahahahaha!
Will we score more than 50 points in the second half? 48.
Can we limit ourselves to fewer than 10 turnovers? Hahahahaha!
Can USI limit themselves to fewer than 15 turnovers? Exactly 15.
Will Wagner drain more than three 3-pt shots? Negative.
Will Harding attempt more 2-pointers or more 3-pointers? More twos.
Has Cook been practicing his free throws since Friday? Don’t know.
Who will lead our team in rebounding? Harding.
How many of our guys will score in double-digits? Three.
Are our guys looking past this one with the Bahamas on their minds? Maybe.
Will Sam Mervis see the court? Negative.

We do seem to be more of a second half team. I went through and just did the point differential for the games. Obviously a lot of factors come into play like FAU having a monster lead and taking their foot off the gas, but in our 4 D1 games against similar competition we had a +12 point swing from the first half against USI (being outscored 11 in first half and outscoring them by 1 in the second), +26 point swing against Chicago State, +16 point swing against Ball State, and the the only time we were outperformed in the second half was against SIU-E where there was a -11 point swing in their favor second half. It's early but we seem always be down 7,8,9 points before the under 16 time-out.

Can someone go over to the USI fan form and tell @eaglepride to get back here and claim his trophy that @Jason Svoboda made.
On behalf of the Southern Indiana fans and the Southern Indiana men's basketball team, winners of the 2024-25 "Highway 41 Classic" I accept the Screagamore trophy. I would like to thank my wife and kids for putting up with me pacing back and forth in the living room and going though 10 packs of bubble gum. I would also thank Indiana State fans especially you 4Q-iu for agreeing to schedule USI and starting this rivalry. See you all next year in Terre Haute for the 2025-26 "Highway 41 Classic".

According to the TV color guy, it's an I-64 rivalry...which boggles the mind on so many levels.

You're always welcome here... I look forward to continuing this intense rivalry next year please tell all your friends and USI fans - all 30 of you, that we have used our own valuable resources to create the trophy at your request, special thanks to @Jason Svoboda

Make sure when you come back on here next year to berate our entire fan base for all thinking we are too good for USI - since we in Terre Haute & Indiana State walk around with such a complex that we are too good for most things. Also, be sure to get offended again when we tell you that we don't think rivalries are fabricated by the creation of a simple trophy - but we have one now, so you never know!

In all seriousness, good luck the rest of this season and more importantly Happy Thanksgiving!

Honestly a trophy with say like a map of 41 from Terre Haute to Evansville with artistic mentions of various notable landmarks and towns along the way on it would be pretty cool. Put the ISU and USI logos on it next to Terre Haute and Evansville, and stick a US 41 shield on it somewhere. Probably limit the towns labeled to TH, Sullivan, Vincennes, Princeton, and Evansville to avoid crowding. Landmarks that come to top of mind would be Fort Vincennes; corn and watermelon fields; two active dirt tracks and an abandoned one; and the Wabash, White, and Ohio Rivers. You can also see the Merom and Mt Carmel power plants in the distance on the way down. Basically take the map below and make it really nice and slap it on a nice little trophy.
