We've had the white helmets before....

we had them in the early 1990s when Raetz was coaching...they were modeled after the Air Force Academy's helmets.....

We've also had powder blue under Coaches Jamieson and Raetz....and darker blue ones under McGuire.....

We also had white helmets back in the 1960s and 1970s......under Coaches Huntsman and Harp.....loved the uniforms we had when Harp was coach....they looked like Auburn's.....

and the uniforms that we had, the away ones, back in the mid-1980s....looked like the houston oilers.....

And, yes, I think the numbers will stay on the side of the helmets for now....but they may revert back before next season....to the logo on the side.....I joked with trent that we should keep the numbers on the side...since that's what they wore when they snapped the streak last week....lol....

I would like the numbers on the side of the helmets, we would like like Alabama without the red, and the stellar team that they have.

Were I the AD...

I like the State w/ the 'arched Sycamores' -- though the star should go and be replaced w/ a Sycamore Leaf.

I've said it before but who cares: Navy / Yale Blue! (unless the school colors have OFFICIALLY changed...) We need to ask Dr Bradley or the Trustees; I like the Navy -- classy, timeless (one more reason you see so many Navy suits but DAMN few Royal Blue suits, Deion Sanders, Michael Irvin and 'Biggie' Smalls notwithstanding...)

I liked the numbers on the side; maybe make them a bit larger or add a border to make them 'pop' a little bit.

I wish the helmets were black - then you put a white number on the side that would be sweet! They need to get a little black into the mix the way I see it we are Blue, White and Black! lol

1 - 0 with just the numbers on the helmets. LEAVE IT!

THere is a funny story behind the numbers on the helmets..........

Coach Miles had the equipment managers remove the Sycamores logo in an attempt to make the players earn them back. He decided that they had done enough to get the logos back on their helmets for the homecoming game..... But, wait a minute.....OOOOOPS! They didn't realize that they did not have enough back-up decals for all the helmets. Hence.... the numbers!

Kind of a funny story.....

For the record...... The blue helmets we had a few years ago were terrible. Blue helmets would make us look like a 1A high-school team.

While we're discussing it...

Why the solid (blue jersey AND blue pants) uniforms? I've always liked the contrast of blue jerseys and white pants (w/ 1-2 stripes on the side)

And as to Morgan and his black?! WTH? Royal Blue, White and Black??

No way -- Why do need an 'accent' color?

I like the outline of the state with either the wrap-around S or the arched Sycamores look. Maybe eliminate the blue stripe. I don't like the blue jerseys with the blue pants with no stripe. The contrast with the white pants with the two stripes of blue and red has class. It helps to look good in order to emit class and be a winner.

Only saw the pictures online, they looked OK. I would prefer a uni look similar to Oklahoma. Blue helmets, basic jersey with block letter SYCAMORES, where they say SOONERS, across the chest with white pants and 2 stripes. A blue version of Ohio State would also be a cool look, just replace where they have red with blue.

Did you all know that the script Sycamores logo....

with the state of Indiana outline and the star at Terre Haute....was designed when Dennis Raetz was coaching back in the 1990s.....the original design, with the outline of the state of Indiana and the star of Terre Haute, was credited to former Indiana State head coach Dick Jamieson....when he took over the program in 1978.....
