by his choice of dress. I'm merely saying that he would LOOK better if he came as a Wea / Miami / Shawnee warrior. (And chances are he wouldn't spend any additional money)

I know enough about college students that any 'coin' that is presented will be consumed not worn.

People (even on this board) wonder why State doesn't sell more gear? Why alumni don't wear more gear??

Present the market with a worthy product and they WILL buy it. Part of the 'worthiness' is color; why on earth would I wear ISU gear in a non-ISU color? (Red, Green, Black, Yellow, etc, etc) ??

Market all of the black gear they choose; I'll never spend a cent on it; Realize I'm the minority and that doesn't bother me one whit.

In 4 years when "every program..." (per DGreenwell) starts wearing lime green (for the same reason they're wearing black today...) I'm sure State will start sporting lime green jerseys and the band wagon jumpers will run around in lime green jerseys thinking they look cool...

4q...why in the world would anyone want to wear lime green? I never said that. Once again 4q don't take liberties what I say.

Comparing blackas a color and lime green is like comparing Jake odum to Tyler cutter...secondly if you are implying I am some sort of "bandwagon jumper" you need to check yourself before you wreck yourself lol...

I haven't been on here in awhile, been working my arse off, but WOW this is a pointless argument! Keep it up new Chief! He's got spirit. I'm actually a little jealous that football games didn't have this kind of atmosphere 4 or 5 years ago when I was there..

You said (just yesterday) that "Everyone is wearing black..." which was a fine reason for State to wear black.

What is the rationale for teams who have ZERO history/tradition of wearing black to start wearing black?

Logically, if a school such as ourselves, Stanford, etc chose black for black's sake; it stands to reason a school could arbitrarily choose to wear lime green. After all; it's just a color, like black, no??

I concur... It is just stupid. Two years ago I was begging Students in newspapers to go to games...I know this kisans couldn't be prouder

ANYONE who rushed out a purchased, stole, made a BLACK ISU jersey is IN MY DEFINITION a band wagon jumper.

I do not care if you are a former player, current player (not that they have a choice...), student, graduate, other alumni -- OUR school colors are Royal Blue (traditional shade) and White.

Can we kill this thread?? I keep visiting thinking I'm going to read something about the ISU - Butler game, and the last 20+ posts are about the new chief and the color schemes. Who gives a shit as long as people are coming out to the games?

4q, once again you throw context where a Rex gross an pass ended up the year the bears went to the super bowl...I like the black jerseys...it's a sharp look...you stated there was no reason for it and i stated "well if everyone is doing it there must be some reason." i didn't intend for it to be " lets be like everyone else" but compare black to lime green still please cause that remotely makes sense..

And luckily your opinion is just that...your opinion. Not a fact.

But that's the point. There is NO reason. Unless a school's colors contain black; ALL of the SCHOOLs are band wagon jumpers. Not just us, but all of them!

So, if Black is 'now cool for college jerseys' who's to say that in 4 years lime green won't be considered cool?!?

And I know I'm not in the minority: http://www.uni-watch.com/2010/04/18/bfbs-pt-i/

Great to see the kids win on Saturday. Hoping TMiles passes Mark Dean (1951-56; for 8th in the ISU Football Victories standings) by the end of the season. Should we make the playoffs, Coach Miles will have an chance at catching Tom Harp.

4q I do not own a black jersey nor will I. I haven't worn a football jersey since November 2008 and that won't Change anytime soon. But the jerseys aren't for you me or anyone else on this message board, they are for the players. And if that's what gets their motor running more power to them. I want wins.
Back on the subject at hand, trees are facing an entirely different team this week in wku. What adjustments must be made?

From all of the post-game recaps; defense needs to step it up for all 4 quarters.

Haven't met a Fightin' Tree fan yet who doesn't want more wins.

If jerseys were just for the players; schools and stores wouldn't sell them to the public. BFBS is as much about merchandising (if not more) than getting the team's motors running. I don't want kids playing for State just cuz we caved on BFBS jerseys. I want kids playing for State who want an ISU degree, want to become part of the Sycamore Forest, want to play for a coach like TMiles, want to compete for MVFC and NCAA titles.

Those jerseys mean alot to players...trust me. Look at how excited the trees were with new jerseys against Illinois state last year...if the kids r happy with them and play well they can wear whatever they want IMO.
We need to win the frontline period.

Most kids (scholarshiped players) did not come to ISU because they wanted to be a tree. They came because Coach Miles (or staff) convinced them that this was better than other offers and that they would like what he had to offer them. Yes those that are academically minded amoung those recruited will also look to see if the school can meet their academic desires. However, most want to play ball and want to win and want to win with all the special thing that the guys at the bigger schools are getting and along the way many do become loyal trees. So do uniforms mean alot to these guys? Yes without question.

Actually we're Sycamore Blue and White. The Sycamore blue is more pale than royal blue. If you look at my cornhole boards, the blue paint is traditional royal blue but the decal is Sycamore blue and they're very distinct from each other.

Thanks for the link; what's the RGB value for 'Sycamore Blue?'

I read that flyer, damned if I can find Black is approved for usage in athletic gear, jerseys, accents, etc. on it...

Web is #006bb7, RGB is (0,107,183). If you've noticed, I use a modified Sycamore Blue on the site here (and black) because I think the Sycamore blue looks too pale on the screen.
