According to RealTimeRPI, the shockers dropped 10 places, now down to 47. I would say that puts them out, but who knows. A lot can still happen.

If they do not make it, you can guarantee they will fire up the "leave the MVC" talk again. Not sure I could blame them, but the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

Without football, they have NO other conference to join that will IMPROVE their MBB RPI.

They're not going anywhere without football

4-7 against the Top 100 this year. Just not as good this year as they have been in years past. Also, they are quick to point out how they played without FVV but that link says they were 7-0 against teams missing their top player. Sounds like a NIT squad this year.

Bilas mentioned that they only had one (1) win v. a top 75 squad during his critique of the Shox the other night...looks like the "high flyers" @ Cessna & Boeing better get their kNITting needles out this year!

Yep, hate to agree with the big school shills, but the Shockers don't have the resume to make the tourney this year.

One thing the CBS Sports Announcers were saying during WSU/UNI game is that WSU is ranked #10 in KenPom....and every team ranked #15 or better has made the tourney. Soooo....if history's trend continues, they'll make it. It'll be an interesting Selection Sunday for sure.

They're in...for now. Provided a boatload of upsets don't occur across all other conference tournaments, they're in. Lunardi, who's still the authority on predicting the NCAA tournament field, has WSU firmly in as a 7 seed. They're not even part of the Last Four In or anything like that.

EDIT: Even though the latest bracket prediction says it was updated as of 3/7, I don't see UNI shown. So...this may not be true after Lunardi updates his latest to include UNI.

Wow, that surprises me, thanks for the update. The talking head I was watching on CBS said the Shockers were not going to make it. Of course there are a lot of conference tournaments yet to be played, so a slew of upsets could change everything. As much as i despise the Shocker fans, I do hope they get in for the sake of the Valley and the ISU coffers.

from cbssorts.com:
"As of now our bracketologist, Jerry Palm, has the Shockers out, third in line in the first-four-out category behind Michigan and George Washington. Other forecasters still have WSU in -- and as a single-digit seed."

All of the big school shills in this video say no...

Jerry Palm has never been a fan of the Shockers. Not trying to defend WSU...that's just the consensus I get when I talk to other WSU fans. He seems to be the only one I've found that's reputable that has them out of the tournament.

Wasn't it 2014 that RP, who sat on the NCAA Baseball Selection Committee, and who "stepped out" when the ISU vote was cast for an invite? ISU, who finished runnerup to MVC season champ UE that season, received an at-large...UE got nothing. IL St. won the post-season MVC Tournament and got the auto-bid.

So it really doesn't matter if a recusal occurs, does it? It's called "political affluence," aka "good ol' boyz-ism."

Another reason I hate the Shockers

Told the halftime interview announcer: Marshall crying about 2nd foul call on VanVleep, says "that's what happens to WSU when they go to St. Louis" :animals-dog: :eusa-violin: :icon-lol: :crying-blue: :crying-blue:

as if he needs an advantage? He cries about EVERY call that doesn't go his way. Not just some but ALL.

He sounds just like any of their smartass fans.

Latest Lunardi Bracket

#3 Indiana vs #14 Northern Iowa in "get this" ..........Des Moines. Would like to see this happen.

Marshall needs to enroll in the "SSOM School of Influential Eye Contact" this Summer...do it the non-verbal way!:paperbag:
