Hmmm, I just happen to know of a school that is losing an outstanding QB after this season...:meditate:

Someone please tell me that if this transfer process starts mid semester does it have any bearing on if he will be eligible at the beginning of next year?

I believe he played this year, so he'd have to sit out a year unless he could somehow get a medical waiver. That said, I think he'd have to have a medical waiver if he was to have two years left, otherwise he'd be a senior at his next stop.

He can play next year. Since he was in an upper division he would not have to sit. Not that he would come here but got to think our chance are better then they have ever been.

Not too sure how I am not actually aware of who the team has to replace Ronnie but I actually don't know. Isn't there a 1-A transfer coming in from Ohio or did that not happen? DG3, how about filling me in on what is happening there as you are our resident QB expert.

He is on the team still...kind of a mystery though he hasn't been on the field very much and he is prolly our third best qb on the squad right now. I have only seen his highlight tape but from what I see our offense will be option oriented If he is the starter

Coy Glass is the second team QB and holder for placekicks. Caleb Watkins was playing some special teams last week. I'm assuming he would be the starter going into spring, unless there's another transfer out there somewhere.

Since he's not seen the field this year, is he eligible for a red-shirt? or does that designation need to be made pre-season?

I think he has seen the field this year. I really can't remember when but I also think he is our kick holder (at least he was last year). I don't believe he is eligible for a Redshirt.

Thats what I figured but don't you think the offense would go in an entire different direction than the way it is currently? I can't remember our last QB choice play but it must have been 2009

Hey, NSF, you're pretty close to the football team...

Seriously, what's your take on Watkins' ability? Will he be an adequate replacement for Ronnie, or will we still be looking in the off season?

Caleb Watkins played against Butler. I think he has looked good in practice. He was a first team All-Ohio QB from Middletown two years ago and was redshirted last year at Bowling Green.

I am fairly certain that this is Coy Glass's last year of eligibility and he has been holding for placekicks, except when he was injured.

The only thing I worry about is that with all of our talent on the perimeter we don't want to become a one-dimensional team again. Let's make sure he tosses the rock effectively because those legs he runs with are clearly solid. I like the idea of us running the QB power on people now, like Illinois State did in 08, over and over and over and over and over and over.

I saw Caleb play against Butler, but they didn't let him throw the ball, so I guess my question revolves around his ability to toss the rock...
