How do you figure?
With our overall athletic budget; ESPECIALLY for the 'Olympic' (aka non-revenue, nobody watches these sports)... ISU has 3 current Olympians this Olympics; perhaps a 4th if Noah Malone made the Paralympic team - impressive.

Yes - two of the Olympians are alumni BUT given our historic T/F budget - IMPRESSIVE for the Trees

They don't have much chemistry right now and they like to chuck the 3 -- and not in rhythm shots.

I'd be shocked if they don't destroy them here in a week or so when they face them in pool play. I'd imagine they probably had some discussions about the jacking shot shit. I'd hope.

Right on cue.

Right on cue.
I’ve been very impressed in this game with how unselfish team USA has been.

With the exception of Anthony Edwards, each player has really looked to make the extra pass.

Defense was much better to start this game than against Serbia. Came out swarming.

Now just need to play a second 20 min like they did the first.

Happy to see Haliburton get some action. He wasn't an attractive pick for the team, but his pass-first mentality is extremely vital to an offense that tends to chuck up bad shots! Wish Steve Kerr understood that a little more...lol

Yep, they looked fantastic. Bam was really, really impressive.

FIBA doesn't protect offensive players the way that the NBA does, and you can tell it really bothers the US in spurts (and by spurts I mean the periods when they choose to play awful isolation basketball)

This might be the worst game I’ve ever seen Steph Curry play.

Yep, he looked awful. His teammates didn't help him any, either. I don't think he got a single pass off a screen and everything was trying to create his shot one-on-one.

One thing I also noticed is he doesn't pair well with Edwards. He was the one that usually had the ball at the top of the key when he was running off screens and didn't look his way once.

I watch the prime time segment of the Olympics and notice this week I’ve heard the French National Anthem twice watching Marchand get his golds but not the American Anthem, when the show the Americans on the podium it’s after the Anthem. Maybe they show it during the like coverage during the day. Has anyone else noticed this?

I'm rooting for Puerto Rico next game. They are still American after all. Not sure why they're allowed to have their own Olympic team. Had the Olympics existed back in the early 1800's, I suppose Indiana could have had their own team back when we were the Indiana Territory.

Indiana Territory is/was different than the State of Indiana.

Regardless, Puerto Rico is about the only U.S. Territory that has a population large enough to support an Olympic Team

Is this the right thread to say how normal it seems to let males box females??
I've wanted to say something about this all day, but wasn't sure where to start with it. What the actual f*@% is wrong with society where we think this is okay? From the moment that match started you could tell it was a man against a woman and when he threw that first punch and squared her on the chin I was like "What the hell are we doing?" Who could watch that and tell me it was even remotely close to what a female vs female boxing match should look like?

I mean, this is gonna get political real quick but the most interesting part of this (to me at least) is that liberal females are essentially who enabled and perpetuated this. Further, they are now stuck with their bad decision-making because they didn't give the entire scope earnest consideration. But that is just my 10,000 foot overview of the situation.

It's also not like there wasn't already precedent of what could happen here. Fallon Fox fractured two ladies skulls back during her MMA days and that was a decade plus ago. I'm all for trans folks being represented and having the opportunity to participate but there should be a special division just like you have for Paralympics, etc. or they need to figure out a scientifically based approach where people are approved/DQ'd based on anatomy like muscle mass/bone density, hormone levels, etc.

It's unbelievable we even play this stupid game. You want to cut your manhood off and call yourself a woman.....whatever, but you are still genetically a man. No amount of propaganda bullshit will change that. Men and women are different and 99% of the time men are bigger, stronger, faster and more physiologically equipped for sport than women. It's just how it is and for some reason some people want everyone else to think otherwise. Crazy.
