My personal qualifications for teams to make / be considered for the NCAA Tournament.

1) Automatic Bid (obviously)
2) Give an automatic bid to any team that goes undefeated during conference play, but fails to win conference tournament.
-----------------------
3) 20 D1 Wins
4) Winning Regular Season Conference Record
5) Winning Road (and Home) Record
Currently 36 squads have met the qualification. The West Coast Conference currently has the most bids at 3. Obviously the season is not over yet, and many have the potential to move into this list, and some on the list have the potential to fall off as well. ISU would make it with one more win. Only 10 of the 32 leagues have zero teams that meet these standards, but obviously they still get an AQ. So there are 22 spots still available in my fake tournament.

This thread has gotten a little side tracked. But just look at College of Charleston this year. 26-3, have they beaten any top 25 teams this year? no. But they have beaten Richmond, Davidson, Colorado State, Virginia Tech, Old Dominion, and a 20-5 Kent State squad. Their only OOC loss is @ North Carolina by 16. The CAA is no juggernaut but does have some solid teams in Towson, UNCW, CoC, and Hofstra this year. Charleston has ROLLED every body in their conference except a 4 point loss to a good Hofstra (22-8) team and 1 point road loss to Drexel (14-14) (yeah the same team we beat by 4). And there they stand on the outside looking in at the bubble. With no real opportunities left for them, they have to win the conference tournament to get in. What is the NCAA doing?

Saving the money for the P5+1. That's what they are doing.
