But Turner Coaches would CHARGE them an arm and a leg for using them. ISU got socked this spring when Turner busses took the team to Rose-Hulman. No freebies.

Why the hell would we pay for a Turner bus for a five-mile road trip to Rose-Hulman?

To take the team for a practice at Rose-Hulman.....

unless you want the players driving their own cars there. They had to move a practice to Rose-Hulman this past spring because the soccer team had a tournament going on and the Sycamores couldnt practice on their own field.

We have them drive themselves to memorial don't we?????

Sorry I didn't clarify.... Its Washington, IN.
I've never been to a Sycamore game, but plan on not missing a single minute this season. I didn't know if there is tailgaiting or what happens at MS either pre or post fball games,,

Tailgating scene is coming around over the last 2 years. TailgatingTom will be happy to welcome you to the Sycamore Family.... Just look for the Big RV on the West side of the stadium. I've got a crew that tailgates on the East side of the stadium.. usually get there between 11am and noon.

Couple time per year, our own Jason Svoboda (owner of this site) tailgates on the west side as well! He'd be happy to talk to you.. and sell you a Sycamore Pride T-SHirt! ;-)

Parking???

Being that I have never attended a Sycamore football game...how is the parking handled? Where do you park? Like Fridae00 from Washington...I am unfamilier with the protocol...but will also be attending every game...both home and away!

Parking is basically first come first served and there is no charge. The stadium is surrounded by grassy area, and the only "real" parking lot is the small one to the west of the locker rooms where the coaches, officials, team reps, and some players park for games. Many of the players park on the grass off of the paved surface of the lot. This parking area is also available for varsity club members (by joining the varsity club and making a donation, you can get a preferred parking pass). As a player parent, we usually park on the grass close to the locker room (because that's where you meet them after the game), but more importantly, because it's close to where Tailgatin' Tom parks the RV. It's also a cool area because the band and dance team typically orbit the west area doing their pre-game show.

The reason the team bused to Rose-Hulman is because....

they dressed in their own locker room at Memorial Stadium and then bussed over to Rose-Hulman. They didnt use the Rose-Hulman locker rooms. After the spring practice, they got back on the bus and went back to Memorial Stadium to shower.

Now when we did that in past years, ISU had its own Big Blue Bus as well as a couple mini-buses for use. They don't have the Big Blue Bus anymore. And I think the mini-buses were being used by spring sports teams.
