Can anyone who was there post their thoughts on Bryant? I only caught the fourth quarter and OT but liked what I saw. Just curious how he looked the rest of the game.

First half he was more passive. He did that the weekend before too. Not that he played poorly but you could tell he was trying to get teammates involved more then looking to score. The second half was a different story (especially after Sellers went out). He knew he needed to score more and he did. He is great on the break and is creative with the basketball. He also is solid from midrange and from the foul line. The 3 he hit to tie it up was hugeee and showed he is not afraid of the big shot. The team they were playing he 6'5/6'6 guys on him all night too so it is good to see he can still produce against some length. Looking at their schedule that was a major concern because they really did not play any big and athletic teams this year that could challenge him like the Ft. Wayne team did. Overall I was very impressed.

So is Odum, but how often does he get the opportunity to shine those features in the ISU/Lansing format?

I was at the game also. Imo he has the opportunity to be better than JO because he can also shoot the outside shot. He needs to get stronger, but he's only a junior so that will come. I think with he and Scott, we have the potential to have the best guard tandem in the league.

I caught game on TV from second quarter on and second what Southgrad and Meistro said. He was just a steady floor general for most of the game, but when the time called for it he took over, which was great to see. Made some great moves and big time shots.

I know he said he will still consider ISU but statistics show that players rarely end up going to the school they decommitted from. That's too bad as I thought he would have been a great fit in the Valley. If he's looking, we're looking and this probably opens the door for several kids we backed off of.

Yeah. Wouldn't figure that a kid referring to ISU as the "family" would back out, but he is still just a kid and kids change their minds a lot. I just have a problem with HS kids committing before they're 100% ready. Nothing personal with him it happens all over the country. Kids commit when they are FR,Soph, or JR and then back out later on because they want to explore/enjoy the recruiting process. If you want to experience the recruiting process then wait to give your verbal until your ready. He did say he will consider ISU but i'd put the percentages pretty low that we see him in Blue. Tough break because he was a great fit for us.

hopefully we still land this kid! he would be a star here at State. wonder what happened to open up the commitment, if there even was something that happened.
