Bruce Weber just stepped down at Kansas State.
He had a very touching and honest press conference last night after they lost in the Big 12 tournament. I didn't realize this, but Weber made a stand not to cut his hair until all of the coaches that were part of the FBI probe (cough...cough...Will Wade) were fired. Needless to say, his hair is very long.

Said that every team but one that was part of that probe will make the NCAA tournament this year. He seemed like a man that was committed to always doing it the right way, but was tired.

Very much a Royce Waltman-like exit.

Old squad -- ASU. I think they had like 6-7 guys jump into the portal yesterday.
Can we poach any of those dudes?? Juan Reyna was a big time player in hs, won 2 Texas state titles, led his team in 3pt fga's, made 40% of them as a freshman.

While I'm on the subject of getting guys out of the portal, what conferences send guys TO the Valley as opposed to taking guys FROM the Valley?

South Dakota canned their coach. Was 2021 Summit CotY.

Paging Greg Lansing. Last time it was open they tried to get him.

Missouri canned Cuonzo Martin.

Wonder if Lick may be in trouble now. The Evansville AD just resigned a half hour ago.

LOL...If Henry VIII were UE President, they'd had Lick's head on a platter l-o-n-g ago! The Spencer then Lick scenario was simply "procedural"...

As far as the A.D., one poster's thought's sum up his experience:

"Spencer is out to find other opportunities? I suppose we could start a thread about some suggestions we could give him.
I think being a road manager for a rock band."

Btw, UE Forumites are pushing for ex-UE player MARCUS WILSON to become the next A.D. Also, here's putting $$$ on the in-state coaching contact to be former ISU 4-yr. GL Assistant, DAVE RAGLAND, now on the Butler staff as an Asst. The drawback on Ragland is that he's NEVER been a Div I HC.

I don't know anything about Ragland but even the greats were first year head coaches at some point. Would he be a good coach for them? Is he ready? What's your take on him despite never being the head guy before?
