WANTED: Passionate Sycamore Fanatics. That You?

Register NOW to join our community of die-hard Sycamore fans.

Louisville is about to throw a dump truck full of money at the door of Scott Drew. Basically give him a blank check. After that they will go after people like Dixon (who is at his Alma mater and may not want to leave)May, Cronin, etc. Tang from KState comes up too but I don’t see it. He hasn’t done much to impress me there. I think if HCJS gets the job in Louisville it will be because a lot of bigger names said no. That’s not a knock on JS, it’s just how I see Louisville's search playing out.

On a side note, I find it very hard to fathom that DeVries doesn’t get a P5 job before HCJS. Unless DeVries just doesn’t want one.

yup, addition 350k raised is what I've heard this weekend as well. While I think the DePaul job is Mosers at this point there was a comment on their board about 3 weeks ago that sycamore fans would LOVE. As long as Schertz is here I'm confident in this core returning. will someone leave? maybe. but we are in as good of position as we can hope to keep the crew together.

And I know this isn't really the thread for it but if Avila leaves then he losses about ALOT of his marketability. He isn't going to get talked about nearly as much without the Larry Bird connection. no more Larry Nerd, Larry Blurred, Larry Potter, etc. no more "goofy white guy from Indiana state tearing it up." No more pictures imitating what Bird did, all that is gone if he isn't in an ISU uniform.

I give DeVries one more year. Next year is Tuckers last year of eligibility right? Obviously he would follow his dad, and moving up to a power conference for your senior year would be a big transition. I think after Tucker is done, Darin looks elsewhere and won't have much trouble finding something.

This is the exact opposite as to what I think is going to happen

The only thing that would give me pause there (if i'm Scott Drew)is:

In 5 years, Baylor is going to be part of the Big XII

In 5 years, what is the ACC going to look like?

I think that is exactly the reason he goes now. To give Tucker P5 tape for a potential NBA career. Domask, Jones, et al from the MVC that moved up all fared well.

As an alum who doesn't live in TH and having zero inside info, I very much appreciate all the info being shared about Schertz...even if some of it is rumor, hearsay, or he said/they said. Keep it coming! (not sarcasm)

I’ve also heard Schertz has told people that with what we have returning and what we have coming in, he thinks we’re a sweet 16 team next year.
Yup, we'd be capable of a S16 run (I think we are this year too) but it takes a little bit of luck to get to that point. But the statement still stands. We are positioned to be near pre-season top 25 next year, average around 7.5k-8k (with hulman center ticket counts) with multiple sell-outs, win the league and be another top story in college bball. That's tough to walk away from for a rebuild or for a football school

Agreed, I appreciate the info. The job opening that I think I'll be keeping an eye on the most is Louisville cause I don't think Scott Drew is going to bite at their massive offer if that is option 1 for them.

I don't think Louisville can afford to "miss" so they are probably pretty unlikely to take a flier on a MM coach. That fanbase has unrealistic expectations due to the Pitino years and they are borderline psychotic when things aren't going well -- just go look on twatter at some of the shit they said about the last couple guys.

Not just the coaches, they go after the players too. Payne was said something yesterday about how it's almost impossible to coach these kids when every time they go online they see they're all but receiving death threats

Louisville seems like one of the most toxic programs in a lot of ways. Fanbase, coaches, players, admins, not a lot of people there i would want to bumpings elbows with
