I believe the fund has exceeded $800k per year for coach. Now I don't know base vs. bonus opportunities, but if he stays next year and has success, he will exceed $800k. His expectation is if he is here, the starting 5 will return. I also believe he will be attempting to make room for a ready-to-contribute transfer.

Just read a report saying Louisville needs to turn the program around quick( which they do) so they have reached out to Bob Huggins to see interest of coming back to coaching. Wow! That would definitely be interesting to watch how that goes.

Nope. No chance. I’m so fucking sick of this bull shit.

He’s going to SLU or DePaul huh. Okay… I tell you what all things current - we don’t make the tournament and end up in the NIT, or we make the first 4 in and lose the play-in, he gets the majority of his roster back.

And he takes a mild upgrade if you will based on what? Conference affiliation, salary whatever. If he makes that kind of move - I will walk away. I will burn my Indiana State gear live on here and walk away completely. Because that would be about the most ignorant thing he could do right now in this spot.

It reminds me of when I had to argue with people about Cobie Barnes not being a D1 player… And you didn’t realize how correct you were until he became a star at SMWC an all girls school. Right @Sycamorefan96

This is going to be a common occurrence the next 4-6 weeks

It’s been a common occurrence for 2 months now. It’s completely baseless.

All of these media people have Twitter and they can literally say anything unfiltered, unchecked, un anything because no accountable exists if they get it right - “see told you so” if we get it wrong, no one cares anyway and based on the sheer volume of shit these people lost they’re eventually always in a position to be right.

It’s ignorant to ever read into any of this shit. Same for the bubble!

Don’t shoot the messenger. Trilly is pretty accurate with his info

I’m not… You’re fine.

Trilly is pretty accurate with his info as am I with anything and everything Indiana State related over my entire time here. My body of work speaks for its self.

Because I don’t need people like Trilly to think for me. Trilly has an agenda. I don’t. I think about things objectively. The ONLY two considerations for JS to SLU that make sense are the big salary bump and leaving this conference especially if we get shafted on Sunday. That is it. Nothing else makes sense about even considering that job.

The case for staying at Indiana State for those of you that need comforted.

- Contract extension 5 years $800k annual. The buyout will raise. Donors supporting the effort in excess of $350k will have an opt out if he leaves.

- I have mentioned this yet but it’s not insignificant the media support behind this program is massive. Take away the great national credibility he has right now. JMV, Dan Dakich and all the local media are fully behind him.

- He has one of the best venues in the MVC and maybe all of college basketball in the Hulman Center and oh by the way the community is fully behind him place will be tough to win for opponents while he is here.

- On that note, when a college coach is noticed road crowds out numbering the home team and acknowledging that @Valpo @Evansville and don’t take my word for it take the MVC Commissioners word for it @Arch Madness he’s clearly aware that he’s channeled something special here.

- The MVC with 3 outgoing coaches and multiple really good players already hitting the portal is ours to own like Wichita State and Creighton use to. Disagree? Just wait if Daryn DeVries and Tucker leave Drake oh my goodness… We ran through this league this year you don’t think he realizes he can do it again?

- Big assumption but if everyone comes back next year or heck even if we lose a piece - he’s got a solid recruiting class, potentially some solid returns (but some of these guys are gone) and his own portal magic. We have the potential to better next year than this year.

- NIL leadership is in a decent spot. At minimum I’d say Avila is looking at $130k next year plus the car he’s already in, I know fundraising efforts for those other guys have been picking up in recent weeks. We’re in a decent spot NIL wise compared to other mid-majors of our size. A lot of people to congratulate for being early adopters of the NIL effort.

All of this without even exhausting myself into poking holes into those other jobs and why that wouldn’t make any sense at all.

I will only worry if May leaves FAU. Guy is not about the money, and he's not done here. If he wanted to coach in the A10 or Big East he could win here for 3 more years and move the whole school.
