I don’t say this as an excuse - but it certainly doesn’t help that President, AD and several athletics department staff didn’t experience any of last year first hand… it would have been an eye opening experience. To hear it is one thing - to live it something completely different. Again, no excuse… But when the BOT & people hiring for administrative positions doesn’t make it a priority in helping identify a candidate that is willing and able to fully commit to hoops then why should we expect said candidate (eventual hire) to bring that to the table?

I’ve done everything I can to express to anyone who will listen over the years and presently to the AD himself - he knows how I feel. But that ain’t worth a damn thing - it never has been.

Valid statement. Last year's season & the nit run was magical. So. Much. FUN!

Don't worry. I talked with the AD in slum Louis. Of course I was wearing my Sycamore Football sweatshirt.

With the Revenue Sharing settlement in it's final stages, does anyone know if we chose to opt in?

As things stand today - not up to speed on any changes and the impact of those changes but we are opting out as things stand today I do believe.

If we opt in we have the most number of other sport athletes that will be negatively impacted - those “other” student athletes are 90% full tuition student athletes.

Unless all of your peers in your league are opting in then you don’t really need to opt in - especially in a one bid league. What does it get you? Teams that out spent us last year, see Murray State didn’t out perform.

Could change but that what I think I know.

You need to have actual revenue to share. I'm not the brightest State School of Business graduate, but that did seem to stick from my accounting classes.

If any school that has any sort of subsidy, they're essentially taking on debt to give a pre-expense split with athletes. State had $11 million of their $20 million in "revenues" come from student fees in 2024.

I just listened to the interview above and we are opting out 25/26 but then looking to opt in 26/27. They want to wait and see where things stand after the first year. I know Murray State, SIU, and UNI are opting in.

This is funny to me because ACC as a whole not even winning games like that but your solution is to “milk” the system so you can lose to bigger schools to get you in the tournament. Not even about winning anymore lol

Anyone see Shaq is now the voluntary GM at Sacramento State for Mike Bibby and they already landed a former Top 100 kid that had just committed to USC?

Was just reading it. You would think he would have done it for LSU however his son plays for Sacramento State so it makes sense. If you have any NBA ties you should definitely take advantage of it in this climate.
